The bulbs aren’t all the same size as the OEM ones requiring you to find the ones that fit this harness if they go out. Sonatas from this model year have a tendency to blow bulbs and this harness was not the fix. The plastics feel cheap and don’t snap into the tail light assembly as securely as the oem one.

The tail light wiring worked wonders for my dad's 2013 Hyundai Sonata. His car was due for inspection and one of his rear lights was not working so we thought it was due to the light going out and sadly it seems it was the wiring that going bad. We tried hard to keep the light on but it was to no avail so luckily after some Google search I was able to see that it was easy to replace the tail light wiring which brought me here. The new wiring worked from the get go. Though while the little lights were able to screw properly in the light casing of the tail light the bigger lights sadly the silicone washer seemed thinner and was not latching properly so I recommend that thicker silicone washer be added for future buyers. Anyways I still went ahead and screwed them as is and the lights still work as intended so hopefully it will pass inspection with flying colors this time.

Went to dealer service for brake light not working. Service tech says bulb melted socket and need to change entire tail lamp assembly plus harness, going to cost $400+. Tell him pass on it and order this harness . Checked the damaged area, Bulb broke and other half was burned and stuck in the socket but tail lamp assembly looks fine. Looks like the dealership wanted to inflate the repairs with the highest bill. Unhooked the harness and connected the new one which came with all the bulbs so I have extra light bulbs too and the brake light snapped in the assembly with no problems. For $30 and 10 minutes of simple replacement cannot complain! You tube how to videos will help you out too. Just wondering if the prior $400 Tail light assembly replacement I did a few years ago when my reverse light was out was a scam. Before doing any work with “dealerships” ask about what is actually needed and get a second quote from another place to see if it’s up and up instead of getting gouge or see if you can do it yourself. You tube is great help for various repair work.
