Valve doesn't lock into place in a closed position making this valve just about useless. When water is flowing, valve opens up and water sprays everywhere. It seems like its it was worn or has a broken internal part perhaps. Also, gauge seems to have different threads. Think I got a defective 98209800 valve. Very disappointed with this product. Can't run pump until I find a replacement. :(

Strangest thing I have seen mechanically in some time. First off, I literally had to use a loupe to read the microscopic 1pt font the instructions are printed in. They are that small. The crazy thing: as others have mentioned the gauge will NOT thread in to the valve body. The valve I received had cross-threaded plastic. Now, here is the crazy part; the new gauge did go in to my old OE valve. The old gauge DID thread in to this new valve. I have no idea. Either way, I frankenstein'd this stuff together and it is working. Word to others, if your old one is leaking, consider disassembling it and cleaning it out. Mine had 20 years of dirt in it that was resulting in the valve not being able to close. Also, there is an O-ring you can probably buy somewhere. In other words, you may not even need this.
