Cap has an unnecessary breather hole that leaks gas everywhere.

Direct replacement for the SRM-225. I needed new fuel lines and a filter and decided to just install the whole assembly instead of fight with the grommet and lines separately. This gas tank assembly literally takes minutes to install but I assume anyone purchaing this probably already knows this as you service your own small engine tools. This is a complete assembly. Fuel filter/fuel in feeder, return line, and vent line. You literally install 3 bolts and hook up two fuel lines.

This lady drove up beside us on the way home from mowing a friends yard and said your dragging your weed eater. She was right. We stopped and put it back in the trailer. I told my wife it’s tore up. She went and bought a still. Now still is a great weed eater and it don’t choke. I wanted the echo going again so I started doing what I do and found exactly what I needed to put this echo back together and get it running. It’s ugly however it works as good as it ever did. I think it runs better now. I don’t know how we did it without Amazon.

I installed this on my SRM-225, dated June 2021. Had lots of trouble getting it to start and then it would quickly die. This must be the wrong part. I did notice that the priming did not work correctly, and yes I did install it correctly. I removed this and re-installed the original tank. Primed correctly and started right up. The primer bulb should become rigid after priming. The new tank does not do that.

While it's a bit hard to get excited over a gas tank for a string trimmer, this one comes close. My original tank would not hold fuel because of a deteriorating grommet where the fuel lines enter the tank. Despite trying a replacement grommet, the tank continued to leak. After trying several things to fix it, it seemed cheaper and easier to just replace the tank.Unlike the OEM replacement, this has the grommet and hoses already in the tank, which is in there very tightly. You'll need a Torx T-25 bit, and it comes off very easily. Pay attention to the orientation of the fuel lines and you're good.I suspect this tank is slightly smaller than the original based on the thickness of the metal mounting points, but I'm not sure tank size is an issue for a string trimmer. Anyway, it works, and I'm well pleased with the result. Highly recommended.

Hole spacing did not align with my oem srm230 tank as compatibility stated in description. The spacing on thus tank is too close together. Had to return this unit and repair existing tank.
