It's a great lock (I've been using them for years), and the price is very reasonable (compared to other u-locks of similar quality). However, I find it ridiculous that the picture of the product here on Amazon's page shows it WITH THE MOUNTING BRAKCET. Don't show a picture of something you won't be getting! Why does this even need to be said?! Very disappointing.EDIT/UPDATE:I must say that after voicing my displeasure to Amazon's customer service, a fair and reasonable resolution was offered. My thanks to Amazon for that.

No lock is impossible to break, but this one comes pretty close while still being versatile. It's a good size to lock the back of my bike frame and wheel (including an electrical motor) to an adjacent rack. Also works to lock the front wheel to the frame. The key mechanism is still smooth after 1 year and a half even with exposure to rain. I use it along with another ABUS folding lock when I need a more flexible locking configuration, and my bike hasn't been stolen yet, so I guess it's doing its job. If you ever need to order another key, it's pretty hassle free using the given card. Allow for about 2 weeks shipping to US, so I would recommend replacing your spare immediately once you've burned through one.

Muy buen artículo, cumple con las expectativas. Lo único que llego con un golpe en la esquina, supongo que fue por la paquetería ya que pedí otro y ese no llegó con golpes

A bit heavy and expensive, and the bracket was pricey, but when someone tried to cut through it with a hacksaw, they broke through the rubber exterior, scratched the steel core, and then gave up. About 5 tries around the lock with a saw, and no luck for the robbers. They blemished an otherwise very pretty lock, but that's all.Very pleased with the performance. Honestly, I'm surprised they tried at all. To pick this thing up, it reeks of quality and high-end design. Doubles as a weapon. I'm sure the right tool exists to cut it, but the sound it would make and the time it would take would make using such a tool challenging if not extremely difficult in any outdoor setting. This has now paid for itself.

I finally got myself a new bike, and wanted a new lock in the vein of a Kryptonite U-Lock. I have two previous K-locks that never failed me, but then I tend not to lock up unsupervised in public for long.I like the feel of the ABUS; the key action is smooth and the mechanism feels well made and sturdy. I understand that any lock is the best until it's defeated, but so far so good.My one complaint is that even though it's the same size as my K-locks, because of the U-bar shape and layer of sealant, it doesn't readily fit in my back pockets like a K-lock. I ride with my U-locks in my back pocket for security and driver harassment deterrence, so now I need to make other arrangements to keep it handy while riding.

I picked this bike lock because it hits a lot of great selling points (more info below). I wanted something better to protect my bike while I go into shops or restaurants. I exclusively commute on my bike, so I'm forced to leave my bike outside and in the open. This lock gives me the peace of mind that nobody will take my bike while I'm away. The lock works very smoothly and I have never had a hangup with the key. The coating does an excellent job at protecting the paint on my bike (no scratches!). It is quite heavy, but it's high quality stretched steel. The lock mount is oddly shaped and can be difficult to find a place to mount it onto. I keep the lock in my backpack or satchel instead.Pros:-Hardened, stretched steel-Double bolted square shaped locks-Smooth working lock-Protective rubber coating-Medium shackle length-Two keys, one comes with a light-Replacement keys are easy to get from ABUSCons:-It's heavy-Mount is tricky to useHere are some specifics:It can resist ~13 tons of cutting force, ~7 tons of pulling force, and 1,300 Nm of twisting force. It uses a double-bolted square shackle. The square-in-square shape prevents twisting. That doubles the locking force as well as resistance against tools.

Significantly lighter than the equivalent Kryptonite product, and for me, that was enough to warrant purchasing it. Further, significantly more Kryptonite reviewers noted problems with their locks getting jammed up and the key not turning in the lock, this despite application of lock appropriate lube. This happened with Abus users, but it was a lot less. This lock was made in Germany, the Kryptonite lock is made in China. To me, that says a lot about why there is a difference. I've had this lock for about two days, so we will see how it goes. Lock was shipped quickly, and weirdly, there was no packing material in the box. Not that the lock really needed any, but still.

How could I put less than 5 stars if my bike has not been stolen yet? Nice and sturdy lock which I bought based on all the good feedback I found on internet. I also bought the bracket which locks in it and I am fully satisfied with the set. I never do it if not necessary but: I love the sound of locking and unlocking it. Sounds like a good mechanism. I will be very surprised if this lock will ever not do what it is intended to do.. and I would let you guys know for sure, questioning the universe. So far so good. I recommend. Es freut mich sehr, dass es aus Deutschland kommt. ;)

Expensive, but what a great lock. The key engages and turns like butter (important to me after replacing two cheaper u-locks, in two years, that the keys finally couldn't turn any more from binding-up). I've had this lock for a year, in Seattle weather, commuting at least five days a week without interruption (all seasons) and the lock appears to be weather proof. It's heavy, coming in at about 3-1/4 lbs. for the 9" and 3-3/4 lbs. for the longer 11" model (I own both). But when you weigh 250 lbs., and ride steel frames, it's less than 1% difference relative to the cheaper, dead, discarded u-locks I've had. If you're riding carbon, and are skinny, well, I can't imagine you would want this lock stealing back all the reduction in weight you're enjoying. This does not come with the frame mount, bought it separately (about $25). It, too, is excellent, no rattling, easy to remove and return to the mount. The lock's square shackle, hopefully, means that anyone using a power cutting wheel would have to make two cuts, because the shackle does not twist in the lock like round shackles can. The shackle feels stiff/strong enough that a thief would be hard-pressed to bend the shackle after a single cut.
