My $150 float charger’s transformer failed unexpectedly. There were no specs marked on the original transformer, so i made a best-guess, and bought this one. It seems i made a good selection, the float charger is back up and running. It seems the unit should have had a fuse to protect the charger from a surge that caused the failure.

I needed the transformation. Not just to prove my 3rd grade teacher wrong, but for my door bell. I have succeeded on both levels.

With this AC power transformer is a bare part that goes into an electrical box or in some other housing as it is the bare part. It doesn't come with much except the color code of the wires on the top to let you know which colors get the 120v AC house voltage and the others are the reduced power down to 24v AC. I am using this for my irrigation setup and it seems to be doing an excellent job at providing power to the valves with out issues. The tabs on the sides came bent up and not sure if that is on purpose or not but felt that it should be said.

Nothing fancy - it just works turning the big volts into the little volts. This shows a 50ohm load on the 24vac side (with 120vac on the high side). I also ran it with no load - no buzzing. It passes muster
