Package arrived perfectly, yet the wood was cracked around the pre-installed hinges. You can pretend you don't hear wood cracking when you’re turning a screw. Manufacturer failed to remove protective plastic sheeting from the glass before permanently installing the glass in the door, leaving no way for customers to remove it.With wood glue, clamps and a razor blade i was able to fix the defects with the door….. Only to find out the pre drilled holes on the top door are positioned incorrectly preventing the door from opening fully……..🤦🏻♂️ ill drill new holes and sand down the edge tomorrow… fml

My old roll up breadbox broke after 45 years. This wasn't my first choice but that was way to expensive. Ordered this my second choice and I'm very happy with it. It wasn't that hard to put together. No extra screws are given. Dropped the package with the tiny ones for the hinges and had a hunt for them all! Oiled with vegetable oil. It actually holds more bread than my roll up having the 2 layers. Takes up no more space than the old.

I kept going through paper bags left and right. I eyed this box for a while and finally got it for Christmas. I can keep my apples up top while I keep my sourdough items on the bottom. It’s plenty big enough to fit every and looks wonderful! If you do sourdough get it and don’t wait!

WE are LOVING this bread box - it is made with beautiful, substantial materials and looks great in our kitchen. Holds lots of stuff!! I only give it 4 stars because not all of the parts were drilled properly, the directions were not super accurate - we had to modify but we got it done. Well worth it!

Size was great, style simple, function -lacking. The hinges were recessed too far into the frame for the top door. When in the closed position it would not close all the way. Possibly could have added a shim behind the hinge to correct the issue. However, for this price point I'm not having my husband perform modifications. He's capable of cutting and building this simple design himself. However, I liked the wood used for this and we don't have a speciality wood supplier near by. Surprise, he still had to assemble it himself. No directions enclosed. Not a problem for us but for someone else that maybe an issue. This bread box was pricey at best but I really do like the simple style and wood choice so I've ordered a replacement. Hopefully the door functions as it should on the next one. Will update this review once received and built (again). Now to disassemble the first one and return it.

I wasn’t ready to splurge on a nearly $200 bread box from other sources so I went with this option from Amazon. I feel like for the price, it’s what I was expecting so I gave it five stars. It’s not that top tier kitchen storage piece so if that’s what you want, skip this. But it looks good and will serve its purpose for the time being. Easy to build and looks pleasing on my counter top. You can see the gold screws on the outside (sides and back only) so if that bothers you, also skip this. Wood is cheap, but also fine; seems like actual wood, not particle board. Glass fronts are plexiglass. Again, not a big deal but shows its value. There isn’t anything to hold the top door open so you need to hold it while you place and remove your goods. This will store a decent amount of baked goods. Again, I recommend if none of the above bothers you. For me…it will allow me to see if this is something I actually want taking up space on my counter top before or if I decide to upgrade. It can be easily be repurposed for other desk top storage/crafting, etc. if I do decide to move on to a better quality piece.
