I purchased this item after I somehow lost my Side Marker socket (the side/middle indicator light on fender). This item was mentioned in a Jeep Wrangler forum. Although it did not fit straight away. The part the socket plugs into had a red/orange rubber o-ring that caused it to not push in. I found a video suggesting to remove it, which worked and was then able to push it it in.

The Dodge dealer wanted to sell me a whole new side marker and said this part was not available alone. Glad that GM used the same part and that Amazon showed the result when I searched for it!

This part is the correct replacement socket for the marker lights in the front fenders of 2012 Jeep Wrangler. The bag is marked as being a Genuine General Motors part but it fits perfectly without any modifications needed. Easy and inexpensive fix for what would be a costly dealership repair.
