I’m by no means a professional chef but for a personal kitchen, this torch is fabulous. It fits directly onto a butane can. I was a bit annoyed that there weren’t instructions, but we figured it out in under a minute.Previously we had a refillable butane torch that cost several times more (4-5x more and that was on the cheaper end). It took forever to refill and was just super finicky. Additionally, it broke in under a year.At a cost several times less than the alternative and much easier usage, this torch is beyond worth it. Such a good value for a fantastic product. If you’re new to kitchen torches, don’t mess with the refillable ones. Cut out the middle man and save some money. I would absolutely recommend this for a home kitchen.

I got tired of all the cheap plastic ones That always melt. This thing is built for heat! It's awesome and looks great. I just wish it had an ignitor.

I ordered this professional torch as a birthday present for my husband. He's a professional chef and wanted a nice torch for home use. The professional torch is brass. It's made well and of quality materials. Assembly was a little tricky at first because we didn't have the correct type of butane can, but we figured it out quickly. The torch works really well once we had everything right. It's sturdy and will last quite awhile if properly taken care of. Its does everything a torch can do as far as preparing foods like creme' brulee' and flambaying is concerned. So far that's what we've tried recipe wise. It's a nice addition to our kitchen tools and definitely worth the purchase.
