Works great, seems to be a little tricky getting the switch to stay on passive mode but overall it works and I have it on my vest all the time while I go kayaking of kayak fishing. Only 4 stars because it seems too expensive for what it is but, don't leave home without it. The information says it can be seen for 3 miles. Maybe in perfect weather and all though it is super bright! I doubt the 3 little AAA batteries could do that. Regardless, it seems built good, is very bright at night, and you MUST HAVE IT. I plan on getting the GPS version in a few years.

Looks good and works fine. The light output is good and bright but I don't see the cost in the construction. The plastic is thin and they don't even supply batteries with it.

Typical ACR quality and durability. Hard to accidentally activate. Takes AA batteries as opposed to my old military issue model.

I bought one manual and one auto. I sprayed the auto with a plant sprayer and it did not turn on but as soon as I dunked it in water it came on. You must lubricate the seal as per manufacturer instruction with a silicone based lubricant. I also put a drop of silicone oil on the screw just in case. The screw itself is a bit delicate so Handle With Care when screwing on the base and it will last a long time. I see someone made a negative review but you cannot tell if this person followed the proper instructions which is possibly why it leaked if they did not put lubricant on the O-ring seal. In the automatic setting you can reset it by simply turning it on and off and maybe drying it the bit first. I think this is good for a locator signal light for short distances. In any case it's a great product and I'm a happy camper

I wanted a new strobe primarily to use on a lifejacket, but also to take when walking in the hills. It's a bit pricey but I suppose worth the money and seems well made. I like that it is water activated (when 'armed' with the switch), but will also turn on manually for Strobe, Continuous on (for a basic area illumination - it's not a beam) and SOS in morse code. Bright enough. I tested it from a mile away and it could be seen, though the Odeo Distress Flare I also bought IS brighter and more relevant in a dire life/death emergency, but that only flashes on off and SOS every few seconds. This is multi-purpose, smaller and more easy to carry when walking. I'd suggest research both products if for walking/climbing. I'm happy.

Bought this for kayaking. Open water and ocean. Must have. Water activation works the way its supposed to. Will not paddle without one. USCG , was told these are very visable in a search. Hint: use lithium AA eveready batteries.

Great light and meets SOLAS requirements when you use lithium batteries. The best feature is the ability to arm it for water activation but turn it off in the torrential downpours
