First of all, I want to let you know that I am just a home owner. I started replacing vinyl siding on my home with Hardy cement fiber board a couple of years ago. I have done almost all the work by myself. I did purchase a name brand set of these that cost more. They worked great. However, my sons are going to help me finish up this year. So, I decided it would be great to have a second set of these types of siding tools. I compared these side by side with the more expensive brand. I only noticed 3 differences. The name brand has longer bolts holding the rubber. The name brand has a different pattern of rubber. The name brand has a bevel on the piece of metal that slides under the siding. I do not think those 3 differences are enough to justify paying more money (at least not for a home owner). These fit just like the name brand. They produce repeatable, accurate spaces. They are just as easy to use as the name brand. They appear to be made of the same material as the name brand. If that is the case, they will be just as durable. I think these are a much better value for a home owner. If you are a contractor, you may know better than me.

Don't you always wish you had more hands when you are building something?! Well, these make you feel like you do. Had a small siding project I needed to get done and I couldn't rely on my 8 and 10 year old to hold anything in place. These were a life saver and helped me get a 16' x 14' section of siding done with ease!

I recently purchased this siding gauge tool set, and it made installing fiber cement siding so much easier. It holds the boards securely in place, acting like a second pair of hands, which saved me a ton of time and effort. The adjustable spacing ensured even gaps for a professional look, and the heavy-duty polycarbonate construction felt solid and durable. The rubber padding on the grip was a nice touch, preventing any scratches on pre-painted siding. Overall, this tool is a huge time-saver and a must-have for anyone tackling a siding project! Having a pair of them is a huge bonus so you have a level and perfect overlap on every board without having to constantly measure and level.

This mounting tool for fiber cement siding makes the job very easy for one person. Years back I was putting up cement siding by myself without any mounting tool. Didn't know they existed. Maybe they didn't then. Very frustrating. Then I got a pair of siding tools that were preset to one dimension of siding reveal. Those worked fine. Now I am doing a siding job for a friend and was going to use up some old siding I had stored. When I check the new siding to finish the job I found the dimension of the new siding was 1/4" narrower. My preset tool was not going to fix this problem. I found this adjustable mounting tool and it solved the problem perfectly. With this tool I can create the same siding reveal easily. I was concerned that the tool might not clamp tight enough to the lower plank to hold the plank being installed. No problem. This tool clamps down very tightly. But, you must order the tool that is made for your thickness of siding. 5/16 tool for 5/16" siding. 3/8 tool for 3/8 thick siding, etc.... The polycarbonate material and tool design give this tool a very sturdy feel. Very little flexing. They can easily handle the weight of a 12 foot length of fiber cement plank siding. I am doing about 800 sq ft of siding. And I am sure this tool will last through the whole job. And a couple of future projects. But, if I was doing siding as a regular business I would spend the extra dollars and go with a tool fabricated from aluminum. If you are a DIYer doing some home improvement or a profession that does an occasional siding project this adjustable siding tool should do a fine job for you.

Described as for Fiber Cement Siding but it worked great for me on cedar lap. Easy to set the reveal/lap you want and a pair easily supports 8-10 feet of cedar lap. I haven't and probably won't do a large project, but I cut in a crawlspace access door and replaced a lot of the siding around it. Big time saver and made it an easy one-man job.

Man, I can't say enough of these clamps. I made sure the first row was nice and straight and made my adjustments so I had the reveal size I wanted and went at it. I was able to install boards by myself and took half the time. Yes it would help to have someone help were one person does one and the other does the second but I had my hands free instead of wrestling with the boards. As said, I leveled the first board, slid the clamps underneath, clamped them down and put the next row on. Nailed it down and undid the clamps and went up the next row and repeated the process. Loved it. Quick, safer and less back breaking. No measuring on the wall, the reveal was uniform and install was smooth.
