I ordered despite there was no mention of a grounding lug and none was shown in photo. The one I got has a grounding lug.

Needed this to hang a sconce against stucco wall. Caulked around it to prevent bugs and water from getting in. More than strong enough holding a large sconce light

Love that all I have to do is blast a 1/2 inch hole in a wall, send the wire through and all the joints can be made in the box, rather than cutting out a disgusting hole and trying to mount an octy inside the exterior walls of a house. Honestly not sure why this style of mounting block isn't way more prevelant.

Not same as picture. No UL or Arlington name. As an electrical contractor I need the certification stamp to install - so I’ll have to return this item that is NOT as pictured or described.

I wanted to mount a Eufy security camera on my 1” wood siding. This mounting block feels exceptionally sturdy, had mounting holes in the four corners as well as within the receptacle for more reinforcement. I used #6 1” pan head stainless steel screws to mount. Will buy again for similar projects.

This does exactly what it needs to do and is a great size. I used it as "old" work since I needed something t mount flat against a shed, so I did not mount it first and then added siding. Works just as well!!! The one thing I am very disappointed in is that I received a used one with all sorts of markings on it. They were easy to remove, but I expected a new one as advertised.

Made my floodlight install easy as pie (prior to installing siding) much better than the options available at the "Blue and the Orange" big-box stores I checked. Highly recommend this.

When replacing lights, one of the screws for mounting my lights was rusted out, and it broke off when backing it out. I decided to buy this new housing rather than buying a tool to get the screw out and/or fighting with that. The replacement was bang on to what I already had in there. Was a fairly easy replacement, aside from fighting with siding, which isn't the fault of this manufacturer.I would think that even a brand new install of this mounting block (vs. a replacement, like what I did ) would even be easy.

I prefer these 100% over standard vinyl siding mounting blocks, no question. I would never use ordinary mounting blocks, I may go back and replace the standard blocks installed by the contractor. Next job, I would spec them. Our housing inspector prefers them. The Arlington mounting blocks are electrical boxes first, designed to fit vinyl siding. With the Arlington boxes, I can exactly align the box with the Jbox, mount it rock-solid, andthere's enough space in the Arlington box for wires and twist nuts. Then the A-box has specific screw lugs to physically mount the light- solidly. And the wires are protected to code, above code. And it can take heavy lights, where the usual vinyl boxes might bow in with the weight.Standard contractor vinyl mounting blocks are 1 in deep hollow voids, and good luck running a 2" long screw from the fixture into the junction box. On those cheap mounting blocks, I simply ran 2 1/2 inch wood screws at an angle and hoped I missed the Jbox and hit wood, then stuffed the wires into the unprotected void.I think the white color is acceptable against any color vinyl, bur if you want to match, it is easier to paint Arlington boxes than deal with standard vinyl light boxes.I also chose Arlington recessed exterior outlet boxes over what the contractor offered. It was a good decision.

I absolutely love these things! They make for a nice clean install and is surface mounted so you don't need to cut in a box. I bought one for a remodel and ended up buying more to replace old crappy light installs - well worth the money.

This was supposed to be new in a manufacturer package. I had previously ordered the 8141-1 and liked it so much I ordered another as well as this one. The two were shipped in the same box. This had no manufacturer package, no hardware (ie, mounting screws) and had caulk and cracks on it. I had ordered a new one and expected a new one. I have sent it back and requested a replacement. This is totally unacceptable and I have never received something used from Amazon before.
