Adjustable for able to adjust spark jump to test strength of spark. Tested a coil on a non running engine, it had spark when testing, but adjusting the gap on the tool showed the spark was not strong enough to jump it. replaced coil and engine now runs. great tool for spark diagnostics!

The tester works great for testing spark in your vehicle. The actual strength and frequency of the spark are easy to see and the adjustment knob is easy to fiddle with. My only concern is the wire seems easy to brake off accidentally. It's somewhat flimsy for an automotive tool. I think it's great fir the occasional diy, but definitely not for routine professional shop use.

Works as designed. Ground lead could be more robust. But it works and when the cheap Chinese spring ground clip breaks I will redo with a more robust style.

Ive owned these types of spark testers before. This one uses a spring around the adjusting stem to remove some of the slack that all these types of testers have. Better than the rest.
