I opened this product up the day it arrived to ensure the contents were fine. The box was in pretty decent condition, but a couple of tears in the cardboard warranted an investigation. The inside of the box revealed that the tears had not gone all the way through, but there were still scratches in the coating. My best guess as to what happened is that the parts were absentmindedly handled before packing allowing a sharp edge of one piece to scratch the next. I wouldn't be surprised if they're all like that.
