About this item

  • INDUSTRIAL GRADE STRENGTH: Each rolling wheel supports up to 155 lbs on its own, so the entire pack will handle a back-breaking 620 lbs. There's no need to hurt yourself or risk scratching the floor of your shop to move your workbench.
  • HEAVY-DUTY BRAKES: Lock your wheels into place with a single tap of your foot to push the locking mechanism down. Have peace of mind knowing that your workbench or heavy machinery is secure and won't roll away once in place.
  • 360 DEGREE SWIVEL: Each caster wheel is designed to turn in any direction so you can smoothly and easily move your now portable, heavy bench exactly where you need it. This makes it easy to inch into a tight space.
  • STRONG METAL MOUNT: The heavy duty caster wheels are attached to super strong metal brackets that are easy to attach to each corner of your workbench with the included high quality wood screws.
  • EFFICIENCY: Not only can you move your bench with ease, the mounting bracket is designed so the foot lever can be easily accessed with your foot and the workbench leg is not in the way.
  • NEW AND IMPROVED: The Bora PM-950 Heavy-Duty Locking Caster Set is an improved version of our PM-900. We added additional functionality and efficiency to the PM-900 to give you an even strong and more reliable caster kit in the PM-950.

If your woodshop also doubles as a garage or shed, you need to be able to move your workbench out of the way without risking any pain or strain on your back. The PM-950 Workbench Caster Kit makes it simple and easy to move your workbench and other heavy equipment out of the way when you don’t need to use it. Using BORA’S tried-and-true mobile base technology — including hard rubber wheels with 360-degree swivel and heavy-duty foot levers — this caster set helps you take advantage of workshop mobility on your terms.

I built a custom bench for my wood shop and put these on it. My frame is 4x6” posts with 2x8 and 2x6 framing and 3/4” plywood on the bottom and 3/4” plywood and 3/4” particle board for a sacrificial top. It’s a beast and weighs hundreds being 5’x8’. These let me move it easily by myself in any direction. These work period. Definitely recommend to everyone. I used the lags that came with the kit and so far so good two months later. And everything is working like day one. Nothing bent or out of sorts.

Installed on a new 7’ maple woodworker bench. I don’t know the weight exactly, but less than 300 pounds. The bench is solid hard maple with a heavy duty, quick release front vise, and equally heavy duty tail vise. The casters were easy to attach and lift the workbench easily about ¾”. It is easy to move the bench around when the wheels are down. Now, a few months later, when I moved the bench this morning two of the 4 caster wheels separated completely, spreading ball bearings everywhere. These are cheaply made. There is no way they will support the advertised 650 pounds of weight. I should add that the workbench was only moved 6' at a time and that was only done a few times.I will contact the manufacturer, who has been sold to another outfit, to see if there is a refund available.

They look good and work even better. Perfect quality for a wide range of applications. They take a bit to install correctly because of the side mount concept of course, but the included instructions will easily get you through.

The BORA casters are great. I installed them on my new (very heavy) Sjobergs workbench. I watched a couple videos regarding installation, but I chose to install them on a bench prior to assembly of the bench. That way, I wasn’t on my hands and knees on a concrete floor. There are a fair number of screws, nuts, bolts and washers to install, so do assemble first before attaching to your tool/bench. The casters are smooth, easy to operate, and are up to carrying a 300 pound bench with ease.

I bought these for a very heavy duty movable storage/ work table for my new pole barn. This gives 64-SF of easily movable storage thanks to the drop casters, I did double them up due to the excessive weight of the table, around 600 pounds. With the casters down you and easily move it around with one hand, great product! This one works do well in building a second.

This product is made of heavy material that will last for decades! The instruction pamphlet doesnt' have written instructions but is very easy to follow and easy to put together. All 4 legs took less than 15 minutes to mark the holes, drill the holes and place the base and other pieces together. I would purchase this again with no second thought on quality or ability to lift and move large tables such as a wood crafting table. The wheels are smooth and able to handle the weight of the table. This is a great value for the amount posted. Thank you!

Three of the four grey pieces which mount to the bench had paint defects. All on the inside surfaces. Have contacted Bora and am awaiting resolution.Have purchased this item previously this year from a local vendor (Carbatec) and was very pleased with it, hence reordering.

Years ago I was given an old heavy gauge metal bench grinder stand- it's always been a pain in the south star pulling it out to where I needed it- and when I finally got it there, as it's a bit narrow, it tends to walk once the grinder is turned on- so I purchased these Bora Casters - It's not a wood bench so the screws were useless but the good news is I now have extra screws- assembly issues were of my own making- suggestion- measure 3 times drill once or measure once and drill twice- it's optional :) The only minor thing I ran into was the power coating on the brackets chipped off quite easily- but not noticeable once the casters were installed. I also made my own leveling feet and once I added them the project is now complete- I can move the unit anywhere and level it to whatever ground I'm working on. I'm a Happy Man- Thanks Bora!

Only thing : Wheels must be aligned with the pedal before drop down, otherwise it will jam in up position. Very happy overall

Made my red ironbark Roubo style work bench mobile. I tried to calculate how much it weighs, roughly 250 kg. They work perfectly. Just make sure there are no wood chips on the floor when you try to move the bench. The smallest chip will stop it!

This is a wonderful concept but has two design flaws.1. If the workbench is rolled to its location parallel to the length of the workbench and the workbench is lowered, only two of the wheels will spin freely. the two that are facing the bench will become stuck against the bench. The only way to prevent this is to roll it into its final location with all casters parallel to the depth of the bench.2. I weight 200 pounds and it takes extreme force to lift the first corner while the weight of the bench is well within the advertised capacity. Perhaps the geometry of the pedal to the caster arm is off a bit.

As a mechanical engineer I design equipment for a living and I routinely deal with machine feet and casters. I recently integrated the Bora Portamate PM-950 caster set into a personal project and was favorably impressed with the product overall, although I think the company needs to do a couple things better. In my line of work, strength and function is most important "if it works good, it looks good" but Portamate seems to have nailed both function and esthetics at a remarkably good price point. The PM-950 seems to be made from 11 ga (.12) steel which is a adequately strong for the work-bench genre of applications they appear to be targeting. The fit and finish of the pieces is good and the powder-coating is very nice. The fasteners don't appear to be high strength but may be adequate for their intended use. They use self-locking nuts which is a mark of quality. Unfortunately they are only bright zinc plated rather than stainless, so they may rust over time particularly if used outside. Overall the mechanism is well designed, not flimsy or cheap and works smoothly. I mounted the casters to a heavy (~250 lb.) bench and they lift the bench easily and roll smoothly. Where I think the company falls short is in their poor documentation and lack of CAD model availability. The instructions don't even include the mounting hole dimensions, which is unforgiveable . I also called the company and they don't provide a .stp file for CAD integration. They will never sell to OEM's seeking to integrate Portamate's product into their own, but I guess that's not their marketing strategy. I had to purchase the product and reverse engineer it to get it into CAD.
