This has all sorts of easy-to-understand, diverse projects.Everything in this book is worked with two strands of yarn at the same time, making it super easy and fast to make a beautiful, thick afghan.The patterns also range from color work-type afghans, to beautiful, textured afghans, and some truly unique afghan ideas I haven't encountered in modern patterns.For example, one of the patterns is worked up entirely of stripes of color in a simple net-like pattern (hdc, ch1, hdc, etc.). After you're completed, you take 6 strands of yarn, and weave it in and out of the areas in the opposite direction, and tying them at the ends, leaving the fringe, giving the blanket a tartan-plaid look at the end.There are also some beautiful shell patterns, textured and not, for an easy one-color crowd pleaser.I don't think I've made an afghan from any other book since I bought it 2 years ago. Leisure Arts books seem to always have a beautiful range of projects, and I have bought a few other books from them, and very impressed with their quality and readability of the patterns. I think crocheters of all skill levels would enjoy this book. I am an intermediate/expert pattern level crocheter, but these are all easy, beautiful, sort of mindless patterns that you fall into, and produce a beautiful product.Thank you, Leisure Arts!
