I just got it and installed in my rangehood. My unit is a Whirlpool one and I had to return a bunch of other filters before, as all of them were slightly bigger than what they were supposed to be and didn't fit in my unit. This is slightly more expensive, but it fits!!! EUREKA!

This item is probably "close enough" to the original and is in way better condition than my original however it is not a direct match replacement. It isn't quite the same thickness and does not have the "keeper slot" in the front edge of the screen. If it isn't set in just right it falls out and with the fan running seems it may fall out due to vibration over time. All direct replacements I have found are 50% more for just one so I'll make a little modification for this to fit. Seems in the comments this is the most mentioned issue... wish I would have read them before I purchased - at least I wouldn't have been expecting the slot and knew it needed modification.

We have a 6-year-old Whirlpool single fan range hood and its filter was falling apart after several cleaning cycles with both caustic sprays (oven cleaners) and mild soap. When we bought a cheaper substitute (many on Amazon) they hardly fit or outright wrong size. This one was an exact fit for the original and although it did not have a Whirlpool label, it seemed like an OEM fit. It has three layers of aluminum mesh that does a reasonable job of trapping the oily vapors from the cooking or frying. It does not have a charcoal layer like some others we have used for a different brand of range hoods but these are easier to clean compared to one with charcoal since it is not meant to be cleaned but throwaways

These were the right price. They fit the size. But we’re a bit wanky and if I tap it they will fall out. These sizes and style are hard to find so I will repurchase.
