Seems like it should last longer. It says it has a battery so perhaps it needs a new battery, however, there is no compartment to open and no instructions on the enclosed information as to whether the battery can be changed. No phone number on the instructions either so I guess they don't want to answer questions. This is the second on I have had.

What an awesome little guy! This thing works perfect and is exactly what I was looking for. Only notable thing I don’t like is that it will not read a barcode off of a screen.

This is a great little scanner!It can connect to your computer/phone/tablet using Bluetooth or an included USB-A (the older big connector to connect to the computer) to USB-C (to connect to the scanner) cable or using the included 2.4Ghz USB-A dongle.It can scan 1D, Codabar, Code 11, Code93, MSI, Code 128, UCC/EAN-128, Code 39, EAN-8, EAN-13, UPC-A, ISBN, Industrial 25, Interleaved 25, Standard 25,2/5 Matrix, Micro PDF417.It charges in less than 2 hours and will scan 1D codes for up to 12h on a charge.It comes with a comfortable rubber protective cover (which is like a second rubbery skin on the scanner).It also comes with a a wrist lanyard.The device is small enough that it will comfortably fit in your pocket and light enough to be carried in a shirt pocket.I only need to us a scanner occasionally at home and did not care to clutter my desk with a large "gun scanner".This fits the bill perfectly! And the fact that it can operate directly on the USB cable means that I don't have toworry about charging it before using for my occasional scanning a few barcodes then putting the scanner away for a month.Pairing:The dongle comes paired out of the box. Just plug it in, press the button on your scanner and start scanning!The Bluetooth pairing instructions are straight enough but I have not tried this mode.As per normal scanner configuration, the instruction comes with a series of barcodes to configure different scanner modes.At first, I had great difficulty (read: total failure) trying to scan those codes.After a bit of trial and error, I started having 100% success by scanning those particular codes at a slight angle where initially I was positioning the scanner at a perfect 90% angle from the page. This has not been a problem while scanning barcodes in my tests... only with the configuration page.The instruction leaflet is a little too brief.Basic stuff like: How do you turn the device on / off is NOT discussed LOL!To turn the device on: just press the scan button.To turn the device OFF: just set it aside. When idle long enough it will shut down on its own.Note: For my use, I configured the scanner to insert a Carriage Return after each scan AND I configured it to timeout / shutdown after 1 minute of inactivity.Conclusion:This is a really neat little scanner.The price is right.It works well.The instructions are a little lacking but you can still figure your way around (it's fairly simple).I wish there was a storage case but it's not a big deal. The cardbox it came in is nicely foam padded and will do nicely as storage box.VERDICT: Highly Recommended!!!
