this is too small but functional. As a result when you push the shelving, it does not move as smooth as you expect.

The casters were a snap to install -- you screw out the leveling feet from the shelving unit then screw in the casters and tighten them with the provided wrench. It took longer to unload the shelf so I could flip it on its side than it did to install the casters. Be aware, though, that installing the casters slightly reduces the weight-bearing limit for the shelving unit.

They work fine under a heavy load. After a year's use they still work fine. I'm happy with them.

Using in conjunction with my Alera ALE Industrial Heavy-Duty Wire Shelving Starter Kit, 4-Shelf, 36w x 24d x 72h, Black shelves. Work great. Just unscrew the stock feet and screw these in. I'm using these on a flat concrete floor, so they glide along pretty easily. If you have an uneven surface, beware these wheels are pretty small and may struggle going over debris.

I ordered these casters for a set of Alera wire shelves. Installation was straight-forward and they work well.However, I failed to do my due diligence prior to my purchase. I have since found the same casters at a substantially lower price. Be sure to look at HOLKIE 3 inch casters, offered with, and without, brakes.

The ones with threaded bolts work fine with the Alera wired shelves. Install the casters in place of the floor-leveling supports that fit into the poles and come with the poles. Casters easy to install and attractive. The parts all work together. Even a tiny wrench is included with casters for use in installation.
