This carburetor was purchased for an older ariens tractor (22HP Kohler Command Engine with Horizontal Shaft Drive (CH22)) I was given from my father-in-law. He said it was difficult to start and would run sluggishly when started. After searching youtube and various other websites, I determined this was the right carburetor based on pictures, and amazon headline. Received and installed. One thing I would mention, with the gaskets that come with this are narrow. It is wise to keep the gasket that mounts between the carburetor and the engine (it's maybe 3/16" thick as opposed to the 1/16" that comes with the carb. This additional 2/16" gives enough clearance to the throttle to allow for a full-range of movement. After install, a little primer and the engine started right-up and is running much better and consistently. So basically, I got a 5-foot deck riding lawn mower with PTO options for the price of this carburetor. Sweet!I suspect the problem was not the carburetor at all, but the solenoid that works in the carburetor to regulate fuel flow. When I priced those solenoids, I was getting a price similar to what i paid for this carburetor. Just made sense to buy the whole thing rather than buy the solenoid only to find out something is gummed up with the carburetor. I didn't have initial time to do a full-cleaning of the carb so a new one did the trick in a timely manner. 2 bolts to remove and you are in business. Keep the little plastic pieces that hold the linkages in place, for the throttle and choke, or you will be dealing with the linkages falling out due to vibration.
