This tool isn't even worth the one star I'm forced to give it.I bought it with the intention of flaring two lines. That's it. Just two. One 5/16" and the other 3/8".I was attempting to flare the 5/16" as it's out of the vehicle and easier to manipulate. To begin, the clamp will not lock the tube into place. It slips every single time you try to put any kind of pressure on the end. I tried every trick I could think of the get it to grip but it simply won't.Then, about the 12th time I'm about to release the clamp to reset my tube, one of the lock nuts shears off. I know for a fact I didn't over tighten it. It's simply filled and sheared.I can't image trying to use this piece of junk under the vehicle where my 3/8" line is at.My advice - walk away. If you need a flare tool, pick up a better one. This cheap piece of crap isn't even worth the effort of seeing if it will work for one flare. A fact I wish someone had told me.

Works very well, especially for the price. Take your time until you get the hang of it.

there was a sticker saying it was inspected but I wonder. The 3/16 piece was missing and the one tool had some very serious damage to the threads. I had to order a set of inserts before I could test it

In order to double flare steel tubing you have to get the anvil very tight or it just pushes the tubing through the anvil. In the process of tightening the anvil, I broke one of the bolts. I returned it to Amazon and they sent me a new one. Now, I snug it up and put it in my bench vise to get it tight enough.

I finally got tired of trying to find brakelines with the right size fittings in the right length and bought a bubble flare kit. It saved so much time replacing brake lines on my 1st gen Dodge Durango. There were several lines that had different size fittings on each end of the line that not of the local part stores don't carry in stock and can't/won't order and the solution they offered me was to use the lines they had in stock(all double flare line) with adapters to get the fitting sizes right on both ends of the lines. I was able to buy a coil of brake line all the fittings I needed and this flare kit for less than it would have cost to buy their lines and adapters. The tool works. Simple as that it just works. I drive in the snowbelt so I only used Nickel-Copper alloy lines which are softer than stainless or PVF coated steel but I'm fairly certain it would work just as well with other line types. I watched a few videos online explaining the steps and after only one failed attempt all my flares came out just fine. Saved me a ton of time already and if I replace a few more brake lines it will pay for itself.

Did not create good double flares. I found this out after I broke on the 10th flare. Ordered a replacement on by Capri Tools and it created far superior flares, so I redid all that I had created with this tool. Don't waste your money here.

the pipe holder doesn't grip the pipe so you're just pushing it out with the alleged bubble adapter, the case is nice and the parts seem well made but it just isn't what it claims

I purchased this double flaring tool set (I already own a bubble flare set which is metric) to make rear hard lines for my Silverado. I first used 3/16" straight steel line and the flares did not turn out well, despite preparing the line properly and watching some Youtube videos. I then purchased a coil of 3/16" brake line and the flares were very good and I didn't have any leaks. So this tool is ok for my needs. For making a lot of flares, I would purchase a higher end flaring tool set.
