I added photos comparing the double flares on nicopp brake line from a rental tool (left) and this tool (right). Photos describe it better than I can. This tool is absolutely worth the money. Simple, quick, easy to use. Awesome all around.

Customer service has responded to my email. It did work well until it broke. Holds line without having to over tighten bolts like Titans version I picked up from the parts store to finish the repair.

I made 10 flare on my wife's 04 Impala to repair rusted brake lines. Works great but do not like the way you have to change the crimp die to do both crimps. Changing the little crimp end on the bolt while under the car is difficult. I would happily pay a couple extra dollars for a second bolt. Other units have a double sided bolt that would also make life easier. One tip, if you are having problems with your old line cracking after you make the flange use a rotary took with a abrasive cutting wheel. I was using the rotating pipe cutter and I think it was causing the crack not the flaring tool.

Not sure what “sheerness and warmth” have to do with a brake flaring tool..... but uhhhhhh this thing is awesome. It’s great that I can keep it in the tool bag. I can also do all the work right under the car when running brake lines. No need to take a measurement then head to the bench to do the job. Perfect flare every time. NO INSTRUCTIONS is a down fall, but if you’re tackling your own brakes and can’t figure this out..... you probably shouldn’t be doing the brakes. Make sure you push the line flush with the top of the block, then cinch down and remember... use opt1 first then the opt2 bit. Easy peasy.........

Used to make flares on my 91 toyota pickup's clutch line. I have a snap on old school flaring tool but when you're under a truck trying to use it can be a pain. So I gave this tool a shot and it makes it a whole lot easier. The only downside is it only does one size but for my truck its all I need. Just a fyi at the bottom of the tool is a magnet to hold the other piece so you don't lose it and don't go crazy tightening it. Nice a smooth ratcheting gets a perfect flare every time.

Brakes failed on my 1958 Chevy Fleetside truck due to rusted brake lines. I decided to replace all the brake lines (5 lines) with 3/16" nickel copper tubing. After looking at the many tube flaring tools available I opted for the Ares 18025. Unlike other flaring tools that can handle various size tubing, this is specific only for one size, 3/16". Other tools requires chamfering and cleaning each cut before flaring. This one does not (as long as a proper tube cutting tool is used there should be no problem). The tubing locks firmly into the tool and the dies easily flare the tubing (don't know if the process would be more difficult with steel lines, but the nickel copper lines were easy). The double flares came out perfectly on my first try. While bleeding the brakes I had to re-tighten two of the connections due to leaks. But once that was done the system is nice and tight with no leaks. This was my first attempt at making flares for brake lines and it was an absolute no-brainer with excellent results.

In the past, I have used those standard double flaring tools everyone sells with limited success due to the inability to accurately measure the protruding tube, and holding the unit block steady while trying to flare the end. The inventor of this device is a genius! The tool is designed well and is goof-proof. I was able to make numerous perfect double flares on my car without bending the heck out of the line. Also, the tool is small and can make the perfect double flare in the tightest of spaces. I used a ratcheting box wrench to screw in the punch with very little effort. It is great to find a tool that is easy to use and actually works!
