Loosens and tightens the hose. Anybody who has ever had a black water hose get stuck will appreciate not having to wrap both hands around the fitting and hoping not to get soaked.

The Ameri sewer hose wrench set is an all-plastic construction. The wrenches are a little “bendy” when removing a tight fitting, but they seem strong enough for the task. The bright orange color makes them harder to lose. These are a perfect fit for the popular Rhino sewer hoses and fittings and I found them to work well on these fitting. My dilemma is that I want one wrench to fit my hoses AND the Valterra waste cap on my camper. This is the second set of sewer hose wrenches I have acquired and neither would grip the waste cap. After reassessing this matter, I realized that a slight modification would solve this problem. The tip of each wrench ends in a hook which pulls on a lug on the sewer fitting. This hook does not go all the way across the tip. There is a section of plastic that closes off the hook on one side of the wrench. Maybe it is there to reinforce the hook or maybe it is there to “capture” the lug so the wrench won’t slip off. I realized that this small closure of the hook is what prevents the wrench from gripping the Valterra cap. Off to the shop I went. Less than 5 minutes later I had removed that bit of plastic with a hacksaw. Back to the camper and eureka! It worked. You do have to position the wrench more carefully, but it will grip and remove or tighten the cap. Hopefully the attached photos will help explain my mod. This will weaken the wrench, so don’t get carried away yanking on it. Also, there is no reason to do this to both wrenches – you only need one modified to remove the sewer cap.I am now very happy with these wrenches. There are heavier duty ones on the market, but these get the job done. I rate them as good sewer hose wrenches . . . very good, once modified!

Those RV sewer line connections are very tight to prevent leakage and this tool solves the problem of connecting and disconnecting them each time we take the RV on vacation. My daughter and young grandkids also find that it makes RV camping much easier.

I hate to give only 1 star because the wrench is probably effective in the right circumstance and for someone with larger hands and a better grip. My son loves his like this and encouraged me to get it to help remove the cap on my black water tank of my camper van and to help get the clear elbow attached to the sewer hose.I wasn't able to get the right grip to apply the pressure needed. It felt cumbersome and frustrating for me and I went back to a notched oil filter wrench I purchased elsewhere. I'm a 68 year old female with carpel tunnel problems and my grip isn't what it used to be.

If you have two waste hoses that are some-what fused together, these wrenches can definitely break them apart. it took me several minutes to figure out the best leverage and connection points to accomplish the task, but I got it done and will keep these in my waste water bin.

Dumping tanks is never fun but when it’s a struggle to get the cap off it’s not like the neighbors are going to come over and offer to help. The cap on our pipe is really tight and when I take trips by myself it requires a bit of muscle to get it off. On my last trip this wrench saved me the typical embarrassment because the long handle allows me to apply the extra torque needed to crack the seal.In the past I’ve tried not tightening the cap all the way but then there can be dripping if the valves are aging or sticking. This new wrench allows me to not only apply the torque necessary to securely tighten the cap but also knowing I’ll be able to get it back off by myself. In a campervan space is extremely limited and only truly useful items make the cut to be brought along and this wrench is now in my tool bag.

I have some serious issues with my hands. I used to be able to disconnect my sewer line with no issues but with the hand issues I have going on I had to actually get help from the guy at the campsite next to me to unhook. I was mortified. I purchased this hand wrench that is a specific match to my sewer line and I was so nicely surprised when I was able to easily unhook. It was a little awkward in terms of the fit but that is because of the way my motorhome valves are configured. Love the wrench. It keeps me independent
