Make sure your amp can push it. If you dont know how to figure that out, honestly, you might want to consider getting something else. this thing needs the right box. A big box. I build a box to spec from the american bass website and personally I think it needs another square foot or so in volume but even without, this thing is great for lows. Prob gonna need some tweeters and mids just to hear the rest of the song. I have the sub still breaking in and it hits hard at the frequencies the box was built too. needs some adjustments on the low pass etc to sound right but if you have a bit of experience with car audio this thing is a beast. dont let the rms fool you into thinking it is a baby sub this thing is for grown ups. if you cant get it dialed in it might not sound right too you but just my opinion. Highly recommend. now that Ive said all that if you have the money to spend and its your first sub...get a 2000 watt rms amp at least that can push it in a 3.5+ cf ported box and knock grandmas panties off when driving by...I mean hey, what could go wrong. have fun yall, im super happy with my purchase.

This sub is definitely no chump. Running single dual 2 ohm 15 in a custom built by myself sub up port back enclosure in my saturn ions trunk and now on a sundown sia 3500 it makes my steering wheel shake. takes 1500 w rms out the box all day and never smelled coils or glue. after two weeks i upped it to somewhere between 2 and 3k (havent clamped it yet to see) still holding strong and people are always shocked to find out i only have one

As always American Bass never disappoints. Needed a sub to replace the one that blew and after weeks of comparison to specs this fit specs, mounting depth, and only had to router out the hole in the box about a 1/16.

This is my one and a half month review of the American Bass XFL 1522. I have this sub in a attrend 15lsv box, on a audiopipe apmi 2000 amplifier wired at 1 ohm. This sub absolutely has exceeded my expectations. From going from 2 12s, to 1 15, it is incredibly louder (will set off car alarms if you arent careful). I have had no issues whatsoever, and would certainly purchase again.

I have this sub in a Q Power single 15 in big box with an Audiopipe apcl 1500.1d and it slaps. There's guys at my work that have $5,000 stereos and are impressed by my little budget system. And it's in a 93 Accord. Can't go wrong with American Bass. I also have to small kinetic batteries. Voltage doesn't drop below 13.2 at Full Tilt.

I ordered 2 of these for a custom built box made to spec for these subwoofers. They sounded great for about 2 days after we installed into a customers build. They were hooked up to an Audiopipe 3000.1d at 2 ohms. One Subwoofer held up well and the other did not. The voice coil completely came unraveled and was buzzing and causing the amp to go into protect every time the bass would hit. Contacted customer support with JB tool Sales about this problem and they told me I had to contact the manufacturer. American Bass boasts about a 1 year warranty on their Subs, but they do not honor it. Seller keeps pushing me to the manufacturer and vice versa. This is ridiculous. Amazon took the side of the seller even though I spent upwards of 20K with their company last year alone. This is not including what I have spent in 2015. I advise against buying these subs because theyi are hit or miss in craftsmanship.
