Upon receiving this ice cream freezer I was very impressed by the quality look and feel of the product. Both sides of the wooden bucket were treated and sprayed with a protective coating, the electric motor was much larger than my previous freezer and was hopeful the hand crank would allow me to get firm ice cream.Made the first batch last night and the freezer worked well. Was impressed with the quiet strong motor. The motor easily made ice cream to the firm texture I prefer. However, I wanted to try the hand crank just to see how it worked. The hand crank worked, but seemed a little flimsy (the only thing I’m a little disappointed with) and I doubt it would last if that was all you used to make ice cream. Thankfully, the electric motor is strong and I’m sure will offer years of making firm ice cream. Overall, I’m very happy with this freezer and would buy it again. The ice cream itself had a very smooth and consistent texture; proof that the freezer, canister and inside paddle blade worked well together.

This Ice Cream Maker arrived quickly and in great condition. It is a very sturdy product, much better than I expected for the money. I definitely suggest this churn if you are looking for one.

This machine is awesome! I had an smaller older one of this type of machine but this one is far better. The motor churns great an gives the ice cream great lift. My great grandmothers recipe is wonderful but add this machine an its a whole new experience.

I have been using a 5qt Sterling ice cream maker that I got as a wedding gift 35 years ago. I have been lusting for this ice cream maker since the start of the COVID pandemic. When I tried to order in Spring/Summer it was unobtanium. I put it on my Christmas list, hoping the price was stable and available. It was available, but the price spiked by $40. Anyway, my wife ordered, wrapped and I was happy when Santa delivered. When I unpacked it to clean before mixing a 5qt batch of double dark chocolate, mint, almond ice cream, I found a dent in the canister (see picture). My wife was not amused. She sent it back and I ordered a replacement via Amazon (the price dropped by $30 - bonus!). The replacement unit came with the same dent! WTF? I called Amerihome customer service (worked with Susan), sent her the picture of the dent. She checked with tech support, then went and opened a factory unit. Turns out that the 'dent' is designed and functions as a stop for the plastic cover. I suggested they might want to update their owner's manual to indicate the 'dent' is supposed to be there and to prevent future bad customer assumptions. Susan agreed. Great customer service. Great ice cream.I made my ice cream and followed their directions for ice and salt. It took only 30 minutes. I added my chips and almonds after 15 minutes of mixing to get an even distribution and prevent settling to the bottom of the batch. It is really nice to be able to see the ice cream set up and when the electric motor seemed to slow, I switched to hand crank, but it was too firm to crank. The motor is very sturdy. I am impressed. I would recommend to friends & family.

After going a time with no ice cream freezer, I decided it was time to get a new one. I was intrigued by the dual capability of this freezer; motorized and hand crank. I thought that would be a way to create firmer end product. I was very impressed with this freezer the first time out. When the motor had done its job and stopped (automatically), I replaced it with the hand crank to finish up. I was pleasantly surprised that there was no need! Perfect consistency for the soft serve you would expect. And LOVE the wood tub! I would recommend.

We had great hopes for this 6 qt ice cream maker. We used it once and it worked fine no issues. The second time we went to use it, it wouldn’t turn. We finally got the can to turn but the machine shut itself off after about 5 minutes (so obviously nothing was obstructing the canister) and we could not get it to turn after that. We could turn the power on but the canister would not turn. We obviously didn’t expect it to break so we didn’t keep the box. Amazon requires you to return the item to get a replacement or refund, which b/c we don’t have the box we cannot return it. So because of Amazon’s return policy we’re stuck with a $100 ice cream maker that doesn’t work!! Unacceptable customer service by Amazon and Amerihome.
