Featuring a simile-focal head, the photo port can be used concurrent with both eyepieces, allowing you to have an active imaging system without losing use of one of the eyepieces. The objective optics offer a continuous zoom-range from 0. 7 to 4. 5X, providing 7-45X magnification with the 10X high-eye point, super-wide field eyepieces. This model also provides a zoom lock to maintain a fixed magnification for calibrated measurement applications. The nose cone provides a built-in ring-light adapter, as well as inner threading for auxiliary lenses and other attachments.

I wanted a simul focal stereoscope that I could transport. So I ruled out the awkward super heavy two arms boom base. This single arm base model was a good commitment, since I could pack everything in a Pelican case within the allowed weight limits to check it in my flights. The stereoscope has a sharp vision, but it makes an unnerving noise as if the lenses were being crushed during the operation of the zoom. It is just noise nevertheless and the thing works great. It is a decent and affordable instrument. Do not expect more for this price range and it is easy to buy. Get the 0.5x and 2x Barlow lenses and the led light. even though the lamps sold by Amscope are made of cheap plastic. If you buy the 18 mp camera, get one of the new 0.5X C Mount Adapter Trinocular Stereo Microscope Tube Focusing 38mm for Digital Camera CX Photo Port Stereo T490 Series Microscopes. It works great and produces better quality images! Of course, with all these extras make the price jump.

This company gets an A+ for this product if you can remember what that means from grade school. Because of the price I was hoping the thumb stop screws for boom position adjustment were not just screwed directly into the main chrome adjustment shafts and sure enough, every adjustment stop screw has a full ring internal to the housing so the shaft adjustment screws screw into this ring which then presses evenly and onto the adjustment shafts. So these shafts will last and not have a bunch of dents in them from the stop screws from use. This scope is very well built in every aspect and assembles in less than 10 minutes. I can't believe I paid 375.00 for this. It's worth every cent. I got the dimmable led ring also which is nice, but I can see I will need a light that shines from an angle also. I also got the .5 barlow lens and the 1.0 barlow also since I will be using it for soldering and these will allow the head to focus and be farther from the pcb boards. The Amscope company shows a light they sell, in the manual , that mounts near the head and provides side light. I will look into finding this to order.

I love this scope, but the only problem is you have to have a light that should come with the scope. The lenses are perfect and the third optics is great for putting images on a screen to teach a class or snap a photo to email.

I do some board repairs and general can’t see small items as well as I could twenty years ago. Decided to pick up a microscope for my work bench. For the reasonable cost this is a nice microscope package, I did buy a couple Barlow lens options and wish this kit was offered with the Barlow lens included. My only regret is I bought the single arm boom stand, the single arm stands alway are an irritation since they all tend to slip and rotate regardless of the brand. If I used the microscope daily the single arm boom stand would be a no go for me and require the added expense and space on my bench for a more robust boom stand configuration. The microscope is clear from edge to edge and well worth the expense for my occasional use. The ability to add a video camera is a nice feature / bonus in this price range. Overall a nice serviceable microscope.

I bought this microscope for my watch repair hobby. When unboxing, I was a little set back because it looked like a bunch of generic non-branded parts packaged together. Even the instruction booklet looked a bit cheap. The build quality at first glance seemed questionable as there are some uneven panel gaps and differences in the amount of screw countersink. My initial impression changed dramatically after the very first use. This is a fantastic microscope with great optics, very stable boom, good ergonomics and a quality tactile feel to all the knobs. For this price range, I don't think I could do (or need) better.
