I had an old unfinished craft box that I wanted to repaint and use. The latches were broken, and the hinges were bent. This hardware matched almost perfectly, but the screws were slightly longer. The wood thickness of my box is 1/4inch. The diameter of the screws was also slightly larger. The screws protrude on both ends and are not flush with the hardware. They also poke through the wood to the other side. This creates sharp points inside the box. Since this hardware is almost an exact match to the hardware that was already on it, I simply used the old screws. Otherwise, the hinges and the latches worked out well and are as described.

The hasps are pretty light weight. I returned them because for the project I wanted them for they would probably break pretty quickly. If it’s mostly decorative, you’ll be fine with them. If they need to actually be used in a regular manner, not the way to go.

Why I said steady hands because, at the age of 81, my hands shake, and it is hard to hold the little screws to start; as for the set, it is perfect for a jewelry box.

Made of very thin metal. The hinges are very loose and looks like they will break with very little pressure. Don't waste your money and time with these.

Well made product, great for woodworking projects. Hinges and the locking clasp fit my small shadow box project very well. Would definitely use them again in the future.
