My previous battery, used in my APC model APCRBC160 unit had lasted well over 5 years, so I was not shocked when the backup began beeping, telling me it was no more. I searched for cheaper generic batteries rather than genuine APC, but I did not find any savings great enough to justify the risk of inferior products. The APC arrived very well packaged and worked like a charm right off the bat. Replacement could not be easier - no tools required. In addition, APC has a program to pay for return shipping of your used battery at no cost to you (search on their website).

Didn't even have to disconnect from power and was very easy to replace. Less than 1/2 the price of a new UPS and should last a number of years.

The swap-out goes fairly easily, though the leads could be a little easier to uncouple/recouple, and a little longer to make them easier to manipulate, but all-in-all, not a hard job. The last one of these I bought (I use the genuine APC batteries even though the aftermarket "compatible" ones might be a bit cheaper) lasted five years. They recommend replacing every three years, so I more than got my money's worth. My data's worth it. Recommended.

It was nice to find the two 12 Volt batteries for my UPS assembled with the correct cartridge for easy installation and not having to disassemble the old one without breaking it.
