Edit: first one I got was heavily used and missing parts. I decided to try again and asked for a replacement and just ended up getting another used item again. I should’ve paid more attention to the reviews as most of them are paid/free item review. Don’t waste your time on this!

It is really easy to install and use. It heats up the aquarium pretty quickly, and the temperature stays consistent. The digital readout is very easy to see, even without my reading glasses. High quality design and very functional. It has also been very reliable, which is important.

I have this in my red-eared slider turtles tank. My turtle has a bad habit of rubbing its shell up against anything in the tank and has broken other heaters in the past.This heater is very rugged and very small for its power. It has a plastic protective casing around the element that keeps it from being damaged. The color of it also blends well in the tank.The controller makes this heater stand out amongst its peers. It has a digital display and a touch sensitive functionality that is an ingenious way of keeping it seemed from moisture. It heats up fast and maintains the set temperature perfectly. It even tells you how much wattage. Is being used during operation.

This is a heater that uses modern design, there are 2 pieces, the heating element and controller. It has some features that I really like. First, most of this type of heater use nichrome wire as the heating element. Nichrome wire can fail, this heater uses a ceramic heating element that is much more reliable. Another unique feature of this heater is it displays how much power it is using when it is heating the aquarium. I don't know of any other heater that has this feature and I think it's very good. In addition to these unique features, this heater has all the basic features heaters of this type have. Nice digital display, automatic shutoff at 95 degrees and shutoff if the heating element isn't completely submerged.

I am using this for something other than a fish tank and it took roughly an hour for this to go up 10 degrees, don't know if that is rapid or not. I like that this has safety features built in, and you can see how much wattage it is pulling. The housing on this can pull apart for cleaning which I like a lot. Once it floated above the water accidentally (my fault) and it turned off which I thought was a nice feature. These seems really well made.

Nice heating element, thick high quality materials , good controller makes this a nice heater.Heating up 2 x 40 gallons to 75.5f no problem.I love the how the wattage is displayed. This heater doesn't just shut on and off like most. This heater will turn down in wattage, keeping the tank at proper temp. Very nice eco functionI would definitely buy again !
