Meet SUSTEE
SUSTEE is a modern, Japanese soil moisture sensor. The blue color indicates that there is enough water in the soil, and the white color indicates that the plant is in need of watering. SUSTEE features a minimal aesthetic that doesn't take away from the beauty of your plants.
SUSTEE
Color
Has your SUSTEE turned white? That means it is time to water! After watering, the white insert will change to a blue color. This indicates that there is enough water in the soil.
Soil
SUSTEE can be used with almost all plants that grow in soils with a certain level of moisture retention. This includes akadama soil, black earth, bark, coco peat, peat moss, and vermiculite.
Insertion Depth
When inserting SUSTEE, please ensure that the Ω mark found on the stick is entirely covered. Please also make sure that the transpiration opening is visible if the stick is needing to go deeper.
Time
The time it takes to change color will depend on the amount of water given and the water retention level. When using SUSTEE for the first time, please water generously. The small stick takes approximately 3 minutes, the medium 15 minutes, and the large 25 minutes.

I have ordered more as need for more pots. The blue when damp is easy to see. Have had lots of losses in past from overwatering so hope this sets me on the right schedule. Will be interesting to see. Expensive but worth it if they are accurate.

I bought these for my orchids last year. They were expensive but I wanted to try them. They seem to work well especially for my few paphliopedulums. These are harder to detect moisture in the pots.So for 20 orchids it cost over $100 for the different sizes. Then the biggest problem is you have to replace the inserts every 6-12 months to avoid fungal infections. Replacing the inserts cost $6 to $8. If you can afford and you find it easier to monitor your orchids moisture go for it. I just think the replacements are just too expensive to continue use.

Wasn’t sure about these hydration sticks initially, but now that I have them, they are worth it! I have more plants than time some days so these sticks that turn blue when the plant has enough water and white when they need water does help! No dead plants so far!

Does not work, once blue shows, never changes. Cheaply made, the blue is just a piece of blue paper that rises and then gets stuck at the top, ruining many plants.

unit drys out with in a day.. says water plants again.. iam like really break out high teck says no dont water..got large unit for large pot... hummmmm

like other reviews have said, unfortunately these worked great the first time, but now they won't even dry out at all. they stay blue even tho everything may be dry.... example- I even took a blow dryer to the thing to see if I could manually dry into use on a different plant......nope! just stayed blue....I even disassembled it to try to dry the fabric interior, bit still it stayed blue. so I guess they are single use.
