Works amazingly! So greatful that I tried this. My aquarium had the worst algae problem and even with frequent water changes it was green in a week. We are now over week 2 and the tank is as clear as the day I changed it. Highly recommend!

At first its does a good job however when it comes time to change the filter its impossible to get out the blue sponge due to a swirly plastic blocking. I thought at first maybe i twist the bottom but that was also a no , ive tried looking up videos but got nothing im considering returning the product at this point

The water pump stopped working and upon inspection, I found the wire connecting to the water pump has frayed and all internal wires were exposed, and 2 wires were cut somehow.. Fortunately I disconnected the power supply before inspecting or may get shocked.

Edit: I am editing because I was contacted by the company and within days had a replacement, since the filter worked amazing and cleaned a green algae ridden tank within a week I am giving the filter 5 stars, if the timer quits in a few weeks I’ll certainly change the review again however based on the functionality and the customer service I would definitely recommend 😊When I bought this filter in October of 2023 my tank was green and I had tried everything. Within days of putting this in the tank it was cleaning and within a week it was crystal clear. Could not have been happier, by December the 4 hr timer was no longer working and I was out of the return window so I set it using the 8 hr timer, well now here it is February and now the 8 hr timer no longer works and I have no choice but to leave it on using the 12 hr timer, and given the history so far I’m not optimistic that it will last more than a few months, so while it does a great job with the algae, if you can’t run it properly it’s pretty much useless. 4 months is a very short time to have a working item. Very disappointed and cannot recommend

It's advertised of clearing the water of algae within a week, it's been two months and the water looks exactly the same or worse than before I added it to my aquarium. I do not overfeed my fish.Edit: Seller reached out, their concern for my issue was evident. Offered to send me a replacement unit as it is common for UV light to not work. It seems to be doing a better job that my previous unit. Giving it two more stars for actually caring.

This is a great filter!Take the cylinder apart, being careful not to damage the light inside -pay attention to how it’s put together -rinse the sponges, rinse the plastic pieces that come off with them, and slide everything back together.Put the suction cups on. They are hard to put on and they come off inside the tank easy so don’t attach it to the glass till It’s running properly.Follow the pictures on the diagram, depending on whether you want airflow or water flow from the top.The next part is very IMPORTANT: Submerge the filter (and especially the water spouts part if you chose it) before you plug it in. This is the part I did wrong and I got frustrated and was sure that it wasn’t working. I was wrong. I redid it the proper way and it was great.Wait a minute and when the water starts coming out of the spout, you can raise the filter to the level you want and press the suctions against the glass.Click the button on the timer until it gets to the number you want: four hours , eight hours, etc.I chose eight hours to start with and I’ll move it to four hours tomorrow, which will be the third day I have it plugged in.I never write reviews anymore since Amazon refused one of my reviews, but I have to tell you I was so impressed with this filter that I’m making an exception. The instructions were a little frustrating but once I got the thing figured out I set the UV light on eight hours and just left it alone. It’s been a day and a half, and the water has cleared up unbelievably. I saw that there were some negative reviews and I did worry about that, but I didn’t have any reason to be worried because this really really works! It’s awfully quiet, which makes me very happy. My fish keeps trying to get behind it, which is silly because he’s almost as big as it is. I’m so thankful for this filter. Hopefully it will keep working, but even if it doesn’t, it has done what I needed and was worth it.

I bought originally for my 40 gallon planted tank but found the power to b too strong even by turning it all the way down. It blows out such a current that it was disrupting my tank so put it in my 75 and works great.

I have a 37 tall fresh water tank that has been giving me trouble with green water for a little over a month now. I have tried complete water charges but within one day the water would turn green. I have tried moving my tank to another part of the room because I believed it was from sun light that didn’t work. I have tried covering the tank and feeding less. Bought a wave maker and a new filter. Nothing was working. My water just did not want to get clear. I tested my water all the time and it was fine. I could not figure out why my tank water just did not want to get clear. Pet store told me to try a chemical that would get rid of the green water. I did not feel that was safe for my fish. So I researched and found this filter with Uv light the reviews was to good to be true but I figure I tried everything else why not try this. It came in 7 days ago and that night I put it in my tank. The first two nights I really didn’t notice a difference. By the 3rd night I kinda seen a tiny difference but was getting to a point where I really thought this was not going to clear up my water. The 5th night a lot of green water was gone. I still seen some but I can see my fish. I woke up on the 6th day and omg it was like I had a brand new tank. My tank water was so crystal clear. It was like I had a brand new tank. I really couldn’t believe my eyes. It was beautiful to see my fish and to see everything in the tank. It was just so clear. This product really works. You need patience because it’s not going to happen over night. It does take time. for me it took 6 days to clear everything up. I’m so glad I did not have to use chemicals in my water to clear the green water. I really recommend this product to anyone who is having this trouble. It’s worth every penny. The filter is strong but you control it so that was a plus. My fish and I are very pleased with the outcome.

I use these in all 3 of my tanks, turn on the UV filter every 4 days for 8 hours. Haven't had a problem with cloudy water and stopped having any issues with algie. Would recommend this (and have ) to anyone with a fish tank

I have a question, there is a green light for 4 hours uv light, a a red light for 8 hours, but, then there is a green and red light on at the same time, is this a 24 hour setting. As well, then there is a blinking light, i believe when the time setting is completed. Just making sure because there is no explanation for this in the pamphlet or box.

Great while it is fully functional. UV bulb coupled with filter does rapidly clear up the water. UV bulb went out 4 months after starting the usage of the filter. When in aeration configuration it stops aerating if there is a little buildup in the filter. I use it in waterfall configuration now. Just purchased a replacement bulb 4 months after running this filter.
