About this item

  • THE COLDEST IN THE CATALOG: The ARCTIC ICE Tundra Series reusable ice pack is our coldest ice pack that freezes at 5 degrees fahrenheit.
  • IMPORTANT FREEZING INFO: This small Arctic Ice Tundra Series pack needs to be below 5 degrees to get our unique compound to freeze! Designed to keep frozen goods frozen! Not meant for liquid cooling, the Tundra will freeze liquids like water, milk, etc.
  • NO MORE WATER: Arctic Ice packs for coolers last longer than ice. As ice melts it sits in the cooler getting everything wet. The Arctic Ice Tundra Series ice pack provides cold to food. It melts just like ice, but it stays contained. No-mess day out!
  • SAVE ON MELTING ICE: The average American uses 4 bags of ice a year. The ice pack pays for itself after only 4 uses! Who doesn't love this? Ice bags create so much waste and litter each year, by purchasing Arctic Ice packs you'll help eliminate the waste!
  • EXTEND YOUR ICE LIFE: If you are still big on using ice, you can still save money by using our Tundra Series ice packs to slow down ice melting. Thus, giving you more time to chill responsibly without having to fork out more dough!

Best ice pack I’ve ever owned. You can forget bags of ice. Sometimes takes a while to freeze solid, but still worth it. Highly suggest

Whenever we visit family and friends on the mainland, we have to take their favorite frozen foods. Frozen stuff stays frozen in my carry-on cooler (the large size fits perfectly in my Yeti Hopper Flip 12) for at least 8 hrs with this Arctic Ice Tundra series (use two for longer travel times).

As others have experienced, this was great at first. But after just 2-3 uses, it no longer freezes. Our freezer gets down to 0 degrees F (colder than many other freezers, because our freezer has its own, dedicated compressor). This ice unit stopped freezing solid. It stays liquid. I've even tried putting it in the back/middle of the freezer. Even after 4+ days, it's still not frozen. And it doesn't work very well when it's in liquid form (I tried it camping last weekend). And this thing was expensive!

It kept my food cold but after 4 hours when I touched the actual ice pack it did not feel as cold as I thought I should or as cold as it was when I took out of the freezer and placed in my insulated lunch bag.Update:After several weeks of use it no longer freezes solid.

These keep your food & beverages cold for up to 36 hours longer inside your cooler which is ideal for me as I purchased these for mainly for extended kayak camping trips away without the need for a heavy & bulky electric camp fridge. I'm confident I will get close to 7 days of ice retention now coupled with my IGLOO COOLER. Just make sure you have a decent quality cooler & you're all set! Great product.

I use this mostly for beer and drinks in a cooler that I bring to the beach and it works amazingly. Compared to your typical cooler packs built for -2C, it is designed to freeze at -15C meaning you need to make sure your freezer can go down to -17 at least, and keep it there for two to three days to get it to completely freeze. If I don't open up my cooler, the drinks closest will start to freeze. I would advise anyone with food not use this because it will actually freeze your vegetables, for example, tomatoes and cucumbers will actually freeze and not be pleasant. It's for transporting meats or drinks if you are like me and like your drinks super cold.

They are exactly the size I need and are well made (and in the US), but be advised: these have to get COLD to freeze. If you have a smaller fridge with only 1 controller for both the fridge and freezer, it may not get cold enough. A larger unit with independent controls will be fine—set the freezer to 0 and leave them in there over the weekend. These are best for keeping frozen stuff frozen, not cold stuff cold—get the blue Chillin’ Brew series for that. The purple ones are good to get your ice cream home from the store, not to keep your lunch cold. The temperature differential is too great to use these to keep things cold—these work around 5 degrees and cold things are generally above 32—all the work goes into getting the items colder rather than keeping them frozen.Be sure you want a frozen food pack—these are what you want for that. They work well, come in good sizes, are rugged and won’t fail, and are made in the US.

I bought 2 of the Tundra packs hoping to get some quality ice packs for long trips and for daily use with lunches. And while they appear to be quality, they don't work like I had hoped. In a normal freezer, they take 48-72 hours to fully freeze, which isn't great for daily use. After about 5 hours, the pack has started to thaw, and the gel inside is liquid again, though it's still very cold. After 8 hours it's pretty much room temperature. But while it's working, it is very cold. It will actually start to freeze anything that is not already frozen, that's how cold it is. For the money, I was just hoping that it would last longer.

Seriously I'm pretty shocked they live up to their hype. I've played around with various generic ice packs and used dry ice for camping (this still aren't THAT cold though) and I'm just impressed. We used a very thin walled soft cooler to pack stuff for the holiday drive. 7 Hours sitting on the floor in the middle row just above the exhaust. When I opened the cooler the ice pack was still half frozen, with FROST on it, and the cut fruit in a baggie right under it was itself semi-frozon (didn't start that way). So not only did the pack not thaw out in all that time (lots of capacity), but it got managed to actually freeze someone (it absorbed a lot of heat).Again, this isn't dry ice. If you need that much cooling capacity only one thing will do. But if you're looking to keep things cold and DRY for a good while these are amazing. I bought a Small, Medium, and a Large. Now I'm tempted to try an XL to use in the camping cooler along with a smaller block of dry ice.IDEA: Instead of replenishing the dry ice in the cooler, use the spare dry ice to refreeze the ice pack! Hmmmmm Should keep me from accidentally freezing things that shouldn't freeze.
