Like new but much less expensive. Easy to install and setup. Arlo just increased their subscription fees to $99 a year. I have 1 outdoor camera that I use to catch videos of wildlife. The old fee was reasonable but with a hub I paid $66 and can record videos locally without all the bells and whistles, just plain simple recording. Great device

Nice I have watching my drive being plowed and visitors with the alerts. Pretty niceHowever; the camera feeding it does offline under freezing conditions. Not what I expected.

I purchased this through Amazon resale. It arrived appearing factory fresh and in perfect condition...appearing as new. The hub powered up and did require a firmware update, which was simple, quick and easy. I've been using the hub now for a few weeks and everything seems to be working properly. Setup was done through the Arlo smartphone app. I am very satisfied with the purchase and managed to save a little by buying Amazon Resale.

I bought this hub to replace my annual account cloud account fee. I didn't mind paying around $50/yr but when the company raised the price to $100 I started looking for options. Found the base hub, bought it and installed a USB thumb drive I had laying around and I get similar videos for free now.

I bought this Arlo Pro SmartHub (VMB4540), so I don't have to pay a 7$ monthly subscription for the cloud storage, but unfortunately, it fell short in a critical area. While it connected to the same network as the new camera I purchased, I ran into a frustrating issue—it wouldn't play back any recordings. This defeats the purpose of having a SmartHub if I can't access stored videos or review footage. The setup process was straightforward, and the device integrated well initially. Still, the playback problem, combined with the lack of a timely solution from Arlo, makes this a frustrating experience.I reached out to Arlo's support team for help, and they informed me that the issue is due to the firmware not being updated to support my new camera yet. They said I can do nothing but wait until they release a firmware update. It's disappointing that a product marketed as compatible with newer cameras will not be usable until Arlo resolves this issue. Until they address this firmware issue, I can't recommend this product for anyone with newer Arlo cameras.

First, this item was defective and would not connect to our cameras. Once we got a nondefective one that would connect to our cameras, we discovered that this local hub has been rendered useless by Arlo in their latest app update. If you have any newer Arlo hardware, the app forces you to "upgrade" to the new app because the old app isn't compatible. The upgraded app will only show video motion events that are in Arlo’s cloud storage, which costs $7 per camera per month. So you can’t look at the videos stored on your local hub, which makes it entirely pointless. The worst part is, once you’ve upgraded the app, that is stored in your user account configuration on Arlo's servers, so there is no way to go back to the old app where you could view videos on your local storage. Even downloading an old version of the app that doesn't have the new version rolled into it doesn't work, because it won't let you log in.So If you're using the old version of the app and don't upgrade, this hub will probably work fine for you, at least until Arlo decides to force everyone into the new app ecosystem in order to push their monthly cloud service.
