Fails to open at the lower end range of the required temp. Rusting 3 months later. Best to use the more expensive Pentair unit. Unfortunately, I didn't realized this issue until the return time had expired, now I am stuck with the bill/bad unit.

Went through 3 of these trying to find one that works properly and gave up.Part #1- Failed temperature test [returned] > Opened at 140 degrees triggering high limit switch on heater.Part #2- Passed temperature test > 3 months later, stopped working and is rusting - original Pentair part never rusted and lasted nearly 4 years.Part #3- Failed temperature test [returned]Seller was easy to work with and replaced the defective items, but unfortunately, I wasn't able to get one that opened properly at 120 degrees or worked for longer than 3 months.

Thermal regulator provided opens, but does not meet OEM specification for temperature and flow rate. Only way to say with certainty is to put in service. Seller reneged on satisfaction guarantee of 90 days. Will not provide a replacement.Reordered new thermostat assembly from Pentair. Cost more, but higher certainty it will meet design specifications. Lesson learned here…. Reduce your need for continuous troubleshooting and purchase OEM provided replacement. Disappointed in seller and overall experience.

Bought as a replacement for my Pentair MasterTemp heater bought in 2020. Where it in sits in the housing has 2 tabs to align. This unit doesn't have the correct cut outs for mounting in my unit. It does open at 120deg and otherwise appears functional.

This was a replacement for a failed regulator on our Pentair MasterTemp 400, whose unfortunate death was confirmed by submerging the old one in ~150 degree F water and noting no expansion of the regulator plug. This particular replacement was about half the price of the Pentair-branded regulator, and I even paid slightly extra for the extended warranty as I'd read that some of the 3rd party ones are poor construction and rust, fail, etc.So far it's made it 3 months of routine use and our pool heater is functioning fine. Would recommend this if you're able to confirm your regulator has died.

Instructions would have been nice. Videos on YouTube don't show how to attach regulator to the spring that holds it in place...pictures would have been useful.

I installed the regulator into my Pentair pool heater and it fit perfectly. It's been working about 6 weeks with no problems.
