This was a direct drop in replacement for my sta-rite pool heater. This is a simple job if you are capable of removing the shell, disconnecting a few connectors, and unscrewing the old transformer. The original transformer seems to be assembled better than this, but from the pictures this is the same as the pentair branded item. At ~$27 this is about 1/3 the price of the name brand. If you're capable of fixing your own equipment or know someone who can, this can be a significant cost savings.I'm happy there are aftermarket options for pool equipment now. There used to be only a few places to buy things from or order directly from the manufacturer.

PROS: Good size and weight heavy duty 24VAC transformer (Takes 208 or 240 VAC input), easy mount, comes with plug in pin adapters so will fit most pool pump set up, you'll need a basic understanding of electrical power to modify the input and output wires if using for many other purposes like HAVC Thermostat and etc. This one is not Water Proof so if you need water proof order that one instead. Mounts are thinner metal than expected, the tabs bend easily but they can be straightened and work o, there is no labeling or UL or ROHS ratings stamped on it so take that with a grain of salt.. Good Value for a solid replacement transformer.

This part is a direct replacement for the faulty transformer that failed. The pool heater is back up and running as it should.
