Attic Ladder Pull Down System Hook Rod, Heavy Duty Attic Door Stairs Puller Pole with 2 Handles, Replacement for Ropes Cord StringFor transparency, I do not intend to use this as an attic stair hook. I actually got it to keep in the bed of my pickup truck to help me grab things that have slid to the front of the box. It’s the perfect length for that and I can adjust the length, if necessary, by adding/removing a section. The pole is comprised of 4 sections that screw together and a hook that screws into the end. I’ve never been a fan of this style that screws together, but all the sections screwed together easily and seem to be very tight and strong. This is only designed to be used for pulling. It is not intended for any type of lateral force. It comes with added hardware that you can attach to your attic door, so you have something to grab with the hook. This works great in my truck and if I had an attic with a pull-down door, I feel it would do a good job.

Pretty solid. Long and sturdy. While it's hollow it still have really good strength to it and the length is fantastic. Definitely worth the price compared to the regular sized wooden ones. The bracket it came with are also very strong, very functional

Great hook is easy to assemble and has a good stiff feel to it. Easy to use because the hook on top is nice and large. Includes everything pictured.

Our attic access had a cheap cord and pull string with a plastic cap. It was decades old (almost five) and had seen better days. This was a nice upgrade and very easy to install. I even painted the hook to make it less noticeable. I keep the pole in a nearby linen closet and it is so easy to use it to pull down the accordian stairs. My husband likes that we got rid of the pull cord. He is 6'6" and his head always grazed the cord when he walked under it. This was an improvement on a lot of levels.

This sturdy unit comes ready to assemble. All parts are included. The large U hook is easy to grab and the pole diameter is nice. Functional, easy to use, metal pole makes accessing attic door a breeze. Good value.

I ordered this to replace a small eye bolt on our attic door, and this is a much needed upgrade. It includes all the hardware necessary to accommodate different thicknesses, and the included pole has sections so it can be assembled to the length needed. Our ceilings are lower (8') so I didn't need to fully assemble the pole.
