FOUR YEAR UPDATEThis system has been used at a rate of 3 gigs per month for 4 years now. The transmitter is now integrated in our mixer rack. We haven't had a single problem with this system. It has performed flawlessly for 4 years. Great performance with a minor investment. You can spend a lot more...but there isn't any reason to.ONE YEAR UPDATEI am still impressed with the Audio 2000 IEM system. The receivers have proven to be reliable. We haven't broken one, but we also treat them as if they are made of glass. We did keep the kit in a hot car one day and as a result a receiver indicator LCD display warped (just the plastic cover on the LCD - the LCD works fine). I also note that if the receiver is worn too close to the transmitter on my wireless guitar transmitter that there can be interference. The solution is to wear the IEM receiver somewhere on the left side of my body (I usually hang it off of my left rear pocket). I have enough experience and faith in this system to say if it was lost or damaged, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another as a replacement.Original ReviewI was so tired of monitor feedback during gigs and worse...everyone in the band arguing about who could hear and who couldn't - that I decided to give this system a try. We used the gig money from one gig to purchase this (how's that for a return on investment) and MEE M6 headphones. My band mates were very skeptical about buying this system (REAL skeptical), but after nine months of use we all agree that this was an excellent purchase. A couple of things to note:- We never used the headphones that came with the system. We all bought MEE Audio M6 PRO headphones and they have worked great. After just one use we all agreed that only one ear piece is necessary.- We use PowerEx Pro 2700 mWh rechargeable batteries with the system and get a solid 5 hours between charges.- The plastic bodies on the receivers are the low point. I'd gladly pay and extra $100 for metal receivers. We haven't broken one yet...but I'm buying an extra receiver to have as a spare (AWR6305U5). There's your $100!- Be mindful of the input signal. If it's too hot you will hear clipping. There is a attenuation button on the transmitter and we find it works best in the out (0dB) position.- Be sure to remove the blocking panel for the L/M/H selector on the back of the unit so you can run the system with a high RF output. In this setting we've never lost the signal.- The case is near-crap, but it works and I'd rather have it than not.Additional benefits of IEM's (not specific to System 2000); our stage volume at gigs is very low (guitars go through Iridium Amp Emulators), we have very quiet rehearsals, and not having to load and unload 4 monitors at a gig. Band life is so much better with IEM's...and even better when you have a system that works for just $330 (plus headphones and rechargeable batteries - all in we are below $500).

I have tested this item with the Galaxy AS 1100 which is twice as much but still on the inexpensive side. Be aware that for both I have ignored the included earbuds and tested with my Westone UM Pro 20 in ear monitors. Only expensive systems come with quality earbuds which is part of why the cost is so high. I have tested them at home as well as in a performance stage.1. The Audio 2000 one sound was clearer with little to no noticeable hissing sound. The one time the sound dropped on me when I was testing distance it just went silent. No annoying noises like the Galaxy AS 100 does.2. In my reproduction of audio test I did notice that the Audio 2000 was a bit weaker on the mid range but stronger at the bottom end. That's not my preference but that's just me. I think most people would prefer the deeper bass.3. The fact that the power button on the receiver is not the same as the volume button helps keep your volume level steady from sound check to performance. The Galaxy one you have to turn down the volume all the way to turn the receiver off and that was very annoying to me.4. The EQ option, although probably doesn't works as described in the manual, does give you 4 options of EQ. Use your ear to select. I don't think the manual is accurate.5. The price point is absurdly low for the quality this product produces. Like I said earlier, half the price of the Galaxy Audio 1100. You can get this and a decent set of in ear monitors which is worth the investment. In general I am much more pleased with this Audio 2000 unit than the Galaxy Audio 1100. I cannot talk about durability since I have only used it about 4 times. Although the construction is plastic with a metal clip it does feel pretty sturdy.I have never used expensive Shure, Sennheiser wireless monitoring so take this for what it is if you have.
