This lamp kit is in the running for my best purchase this year! My 60 inch DLP television was starting to dim, and I was grappling with the idea of having to purchase a new TV. When my wife inquired of me what it would take to replace the lamp, I dismissed the idea because I thought it would be too expensive. Boy, was I wrong! Found this affordable, original replacement, and it works beautifully. It's been nearly 2 months now, and I'm thrilled!

For my replacement bulb we chose this model because it was in the middle on price. I was scared too cheap of a bulb wouldn't be as good and I didn't want to overpay with an expensive version. It only takes 2 screws and the removal of the back panel door to swap out the old light assembly with a new one. This one turned on just fine and no problems so far after the first week of use. The only problem I can see and I'm not sure if it's the bulb or maybe on my lens is that there are a few "hot" spots where the light seems brighter than other parts of the screen. After a minute of watching anything you don't really notice other than when powering on and powering down the TV. The unit was shipped quick and so far I'm satisfied with the purchase.

This product is a direct replacement for the Mitsubishi part # 915B403001 bulb. (see pic for compatible TVs) I purchased from Exclusivebulbs. The bulbs appears super bright to me, but then my prior bulb probably should've been replaced a few months ago, if not sooner. The bulb is a genuine Osram bulb, but that is NOT the same as a Philips bulb. (Looking at product descriptions here it is easy to think that.) If you look at the pictures I've posted of the product packaging, Osram and Philips are different. You can also see how the Osram compares to the Philips, from Osram's perspective. For the difference in price between the two I'm quite happy with the Osram. Assuming the difference in specs is correct it does provide value over the Philips, but if you buy the Philips you aren't extravagantly over paying either. Whatever you do, don't buy those $30 bulbs. The value isn't there and it sounds like there is a lot of clean-up involved when those bulbs explode. One thing I don't like about this product is that it does not have the metal mesh screen/filter that OEM bulbs have (see pic).

This bulb arrived early and started playing immediately after installation, in less than two weeks the bulb quit working. I have checked and re-checked the installation and found no defects, other than no picture, has sound, and the bulb failure illuminated, I am no longer interested in changing bulbs with unknown results. Thank you for any assistance you can give us.

Purchased this for my Mitsubishi tv. I received it quickly in about a week and it was very easy to replace. About 5 days later the light flashes again saying the bulb is burn out and there is no picture. Contacted the seller and the replaced it which took about another week and it was working fine again used it for a few months then upgraded to a new tv to hang on the wall. sold the tv so I have no idea if the lamp is still working. the second bulb seem to be working fine but I have no idea how long it will last and it was a hassle to have to get two different lamps.

After reading many reviews about the less expensive bulbs, I chose to spend a little extra and I am very happy I did. The quality and service was well worth the extra cost.Update: For a more expensive option to a replacement light, I am very disappointed with the life of this product. The original light lasted over two years of close to 18 hour days (teenage boys and video games) but this light has not made it one year of very light use. Boys are older and have there on TVs now.The product name is also misleading. They use a Mitsubishi case but the bulb is not OEM and the life of the product really shows through. At this price, I expected OEM quality and service life, but that didn't happen. Spend a few extra dollars (really, thats all it cost) for the OEM replacement and you will be much happier, otherwise, order 2, you will need them.

OK. So like so many of you out there looking to replace the bulb in my DLP-based TV, I had to hunt around and take a chance. After all the horror stories about the $30 bulbs, I went with this one. I must say, it worked the very first time, as advertised and the screws it came with matched the threads and fit correctly. Took less than a minute to install, including me blowing out the dust with compressed air.The picture is so bright I had to change my settings from BRIGHT and BRILLIANT to NATURAL. Even on the brightest of days, I have no trouble at all seeing the picture.Today is only day 4. I'll update this should the need arise.

After seeing the other reviews of how the cheaper bulbs gave out quickly, I stuck with the Mitsubishi brand (and chose the whole replacement unit, not just the bulb), paying more. The bulb unit was pretty easy to replace, and it is working just fine. My DLP tv may not be the flattest tv (Baby Got Back !) but I love the picture and the original bulb lasted 5 years. Here's hoping for 5 more!
