The deflector itself is great. As others have mentioned, the fasteners aren't fantastic. They could use improvement. They do work just fine, but if they were a little longer, it would help a lot. Just follow the directions even if they don't make sense.

Recommend buying longer plastic tabs and screws to insert into the hood.. I bought longer ones prior to inserting the shield. The ones that come in the package are not the best. It would be great if you could buy a tool to remove hood tabs to make removal easier. I wish I would have bought this shield before I broke my windshield twice. I would definitely recommend this. It looks good on my truck.

The bug deflector came with no instructions other than to scan a QR code. When scanned, the QR takes you to Real Truck’s web site where the instruction video shows an installation using 3M tape. This one uses hardware. Once I figured it out on my own, the included hardware was too short to go through the deflector, rubber gasket, hood underside and tighten. I am having to go to an automotive retailer to get hardware. If I can’t find it, this will be returned.Update: I found pins, however, once installed, the deflector would not allow the hood to fully latch. This will NOT properly fit a 2024 Ram 2500. It is going back to Amazon.

OAUTOO 25PCS Front Air Shield Splash Guard & Heat Shield Push-Type Retainer for Chrysler6508197AA, Ford W706092-S300Copy paste whatever. The push expansion screws that come with the bug guard have a fastener width and length of 6mm x 11mm. The head of the overall fastener is 15mm and the head of the screw is 9mm.They suck and they're too short. You'll save yourself the trip to Napa and unnecessary cuss words. Turns it back into a one beer job.

Could not get this to fit properly, plastic was moulded wrong, don’t recommend buying this . I’ve been in the automotive business my whole life so I am not a rookie to this kind of installs

I installed this on my 2023 Ram, Limited, 3500. The deflector fits the contour of my truck hood nicely and appears to be very sturdy. It also compliments the appearance of the vehicle as well. On the down side, this deflector arrived with some scratches on the one end of it, despite it being wrapped in plastic which was enclosed in an oversized cardboard box. Like many other reviewers, I found the fasteners to be too short to install through the vehicles foam dust barrier, the deflector and into the metal of the hood. I went to a local hardware store to purchase longer rivets to complete this install.

This ventshade is high quality, like most AVS products. The install was very easy and uses the existing screws and holes in the hood the Ram 2500. I would advise two people for the install, purely because it makes it easier to keep the bugflector aligned and centered while you are doing the install. Also, you have to slide the tabs under the rubber gasket on the lip of the hood, so it becomes quite difficult to do that and keep the shield centered at the same time. Overall, I highly recommend this to anyone who wants good protection that is stylish and affordable.

I just got a new truck, so like many of you I want to dress it up a bit and also protect the hood from chips. A nice tinted hood protector/deflector like this looks superb on a bright white truck, so instead of clear bra material on the leading edge, I went all school cool.The deflector is a bit of a challenge to get installed by yourself, especially if your short like I am at 5' 7". I had to use a step stool and pull the hood partway down for inserting the trim nuts. You'll pop out and destroy 6 of the factory trim nuts and they provide you with 6 replacement ones. When you insert them, you can take your screwdriver and smack the end sharply and the spreader screws (plastic) will ratchet in tight. This is much easier if a method than fighting to screw them in. Trust me!The center notch in the deflector is off compared my center trim not/screw, but it's able to work regardless. I was almost going to remove it and Dremel out more of a wide center notch into the shield.... But I decided that it's good enough for the girls I date.In the end, my already beautiful truck just got a little bit more dead sexy. Now I need to decide... Factory height, level kit or lift kit and oversized tires!?
