I’ve used the $650 Mirka before and can honestly say this is just as good.

I ordered this grinding machine and was very pleased with both the price and the quality. I recommend it. Thank you.

This sander really surprised me compared to my expensive Festool sanders. I’ve got the Festool ETS-EC 125 and 150, which are Festool’s 5 and 6” brushless sander models. The 6” version even has a 5mm stroke like this one so it’s a direct competitor of an apples to apples product. Unboxing this sander was not impressive. It came in a flimsy box with a bunch of cheap accessories and it’s clear this is a place they’re saving money. Doesn’t even come with a bag to put the sander in. However, everyone has their own favorite tool storage box brand, so given the choice, I’d rather buy a packout or sustainer separately to save some money, so that’s an understandable decision. I do like that it comes with both 5” and 6” pads. I had to spend an extra $50 to get a 6” pad for my Festool sander. The dust collection fittings and hose included were complete junk. The dust hose is stiff thin plastic like a drain hose. It went right in the trash where it belongs. The connection for a dust hose to the sander is small and cheap plastic. It’ll likely be the first thing to break and the biggest disappointing aspect of the sander. It has two pieces so the hose can swivel, but I did have issues with it coming apart during use. It pops right back together, but it’s frustrating when the sander starts spraying dust. A Festool hose does fit the connection (although not as tight as I’d like) and something like a Rockler hose would also work fine.Of course the biggest question is how it sands. Simply put, it blows every standard brushed sander I’ve used out of the water and is in the same league as Festool and 3M. My Bosch vibrates like crazy compared to this and that’s supposed to be one of the best low-mid range sanders. Even in comparison to the Festool, when used back to back, I felt like the Festool might have vibrated slightly more, but they’re both extremely smooth. The brushless motor used makes a huge difference. I also found myself liking the paddle switch more than I expected. There were some scenarios where I felt that gave better control and it was quicker to turn off or on than the button on the Festool.I bought this sander largely out of curiosity and to hopefully serve as a nice loaner for when I have other people working in my shop and don’t trust them with my expensive Festool sanders, but don’t want them to totally hate sanding. This completely surpassed my expectations and will definitely get used quite a bit around my shop. It’s also going to get pampered with its own systainer and some nice 3M sandpaper. The dust collection design is the only letdown but the dust collection is still pretty good when hooked up to a dust extractor. If you’re a hobby woodworker or autoworker looking to step up your sanding, but aren’t ready to spend the money for Festool or 3M, this is a great option. I don’t expect the durability to be quite as good, especially on the dust fittings, but at about 1/3 the price, I think that’s an acceptable trade off.

I have a few small palm type sanders, a couple that are cordless, one using compressed air, two 5" random sanders for the lathe work, and now this Autolock corded random orbital sander. It will be nice to have the 6" disk for larger surface sanding, and still be able to use my 5" disks, of which I have an abundance. This unit seems to be the best and highest quality of the machines. Though it is really handy to have a cordless sander, sometimes it better to put up with the cord for the power and longevity.Changing the sander from the 5" to the 6" disk and back, is quick and easy. If it weren't, I would give it one or two less stars. The Velcro is good quality and the sander reasonably comfortable. It is most comfortable as a palm sander, though I would have designed it with a larger opening midway in the body to facilitate 3-4 fingers in the opening for a different grip possibility.I do most of my sanding either outside or on an air suction table so I seldom if ever use the dust hose... which is included.

Works pretty good. This sander claims to have auto lock instant stop. But absolutely does not have it.

I bought this sander because:- I needed a new sander. LOL- Product info and reviews said it was quiet.- Its vacuum hose configuration seemed well thought through.- The handle appeared to be ergonomic. Easy to hold.WHAT I FOUND :- Its extremely quiet. Quietest sander I’ve ever used.- Vacuum hose and adapters did not fit my standard “Shop Vac” hoses. I had to cut away one adapter diameter. Minor inconvenience.- Handle ergonomics are good.- Jury is out on the palm power toggle switch. It works well so far. But I’ve had many tools with toggle switches like this. They are usually the first part to break. The design APPEARS to be weak. Easily broken.HOWEVER, the switch is nested into the top of the handle and may be well protected.- The handle and sander body are made from a soft durable plastic. I would expect this sander would be tolerant of drops.- It’s not variable speed. Speed is set through a couple buttons at the top of the handle. LED readout between the buttons tells you the speed setting.- An on/off button by the speed buttons controls power. GOOD IDEA !If power was live at plug in, (like most sanders) you could accidentally start the sander when you pick it up.All and all, this is an excellent buy. (So Far)

I needed a larger sander and decided to try this one instead of others that cost a lot more. I tried it out yesterday and was very impressed. It came with a variety of sanding discs and other accessories. I used it to sand a live edge epoxy serving board and it worked fast and is unbelievable quite! I picked up a bunch of 6 in discs up to 2000 grit from a local store and went to work. Excellent results! It is much faster than using my old 5 inch sanders. Highly recommend!
