I don't have any good photos of the heat shields in place because the generator was already installed and buttoned up before I thought about it. We have a custom-built generator enclosure near the house & I wanted to add a little extra heat insulation because you never know how long you will need it to run. We got both the 1/4" & 1/8" aluminized heat shield pads from Fourub. I used the 1/4" heat shielding on the back side where the exhaust pipe exits the box and used the 1/8" heat shielding on the upper area where the back wall meets the lid. This was just extra protection on top of what was already provided in the enclosure. So far, we're really happy with the results.

Used this to replace the insulation around my HVAC system in my truck, the compressor seems to kick on less when the AC is at full blast and it seems to blow way colder now!

Not as expected! The adhesive is not strong enough or durable to be used under carriage of the car. As observed material is light weight without enough metal on the surface to endure the hush road elements. Possible use in the engine compartment with less exposure.

It handles high temperatures well and provides decent protection, but the adhesive backing could be stronger. After a few days, I noticed it starting to peel in some spots, especially on curved surfaces. The material itself seems durable, but applying it takes patience to get it to stick properly. It’s okay for the price, but I expected a bit more reliability.

When I tried to remove what I believe to be the adhesive cover most of the fiber peeled off the aluminum. I'm not sure how to get the adhesive exposed so while the heat shield may work I cannot apply it where I need it without getting a special glue or tape

added this thermal barrier to my homemade cold air box, and tested it with 2 similar thermometers with remote heat sensor probes so I could watch the temp inside and just outside the box while driving. Once the car warmed up, the temperature differential was never less than 15°F (in traffic), and was as much as 33°F cooler in the box on the open road. I'm good with that. The barrier material has been stuck on the box for several months now on hot South Florida roads and there's no sign of it coming unstuck or showing any wear.

After building a custom wood bed for a Gator, I needed something to protect the underside from the heat of the muffler which is about 4 inches from the wood. I bolted an aluminum plate to the bottom of the frame, but it was still transferring a lot of heat to the frame that the wood was bolted to. I put this on the aluminum sheet and my problem is solved. The adhesive seems decent, but time will tell on that front. Will update my review if there are issues with that.

I got this to repair a heat shield from a large standby generator. The material was easy to use and the adhesive stuck well. But only after using another spray adhesive by locktite. It would have been nice if it had a little more R-value from either rockwool or fiberglass. As it is, it is only aluminum foil over paper.
