Step 1
Remove the spark plug and press the pressure gauge connector firmly onto the spark plug hole.
Step 2
Reset the pressure value to zero before testing.
Step 3
Connect the measuring probe to the engine.
Step 4
Drive the engine with the starter motor at 100-150r/min for 3-5 seconds, pressure gauge displays measurements.

So overall this unit is accurate… very accurate!!! Tested it against four other compression testers. HOWEVER! The title for the listing is slightly deceptive. You could possibly even call this my fault for not looking at the photos more thoroughly… but, this unit does not double as a leak down tester. The title contains the words “cylinder leak down” which is a bit misleading as there is nowhere to attach shop air to this unit for it to be able to perform leak down tests. I thought it might be too good to be true for the price… even still, considering what he good compression tester cost and for as accurate as this is, I still think it’s a great value…. I would give the products five stars, but I have to give it four for the inconvenience…. If I ever see that the title is changed, I will then change my reading to 5 stars.

I haven’t had the chance to try the compression tester out yet but so far I did have to dive into my battery drawer to get the AAA it needed to turn on. Even though the listing says batteries included. Not a big thing just annoying. Will update if something comes up with the tester.

finally got the opportunity to utilize this on a generator with a four cylinder nissan gas engine. found the correct adapter and set it up. at first i did not think i had compressing because the meter did not move for three or four revolutions. finally the meter started to react and it took a bit to get the final reading. i cannot attest to the accuracy of the meter as i do not have another to compare it to. the engine runs great and all cylinders were around 135 psi, so it corresponds. the instruction are a bit difficult to follow but not to bad to make sense of its function. i kept clearing the measurement wihtout saving it but it was user error. nothing feels cheap and the case, while not high quality does its job well.

So of course we have to have it! (Wait no, we NEED to have it!)Look I'm not going to BS you, if you're looking at it, it is what it says! No more, no less! There's nothing else like this as it hasn't changed in the last 80 years... Until now of course!If you want it, get it! It feels good and has plenty of accessories and a nice case. We spend a whole lot more for a whole lot less! (Could you imagine if this was on the tool truck!)In my tears, It reads correct, it's simple to use and easy to see.... No need to write numbers down!Autool has been around for a bit and are making moves! They are creating ideas and innovating diagnostics! If anything else that's what you will be helping to support and have a conversation piece! If you do mobile diagnostics then it makes you look "with the times" as well!
