I purchased this water dispenser with high hopes, but my experience has been nothing short of frustrating. The unit worked fine for the first year, but as soon as the manufacturer's warranty expired, problems started.The Issues:1. The thermostat malfunctioned, causing the water tank to freeze completely.2. Frozen water got stuck in the dispenser, rendering it useless.3. The replacement thermostat is on back order with no clear timeline for availability.Poor Customer Support:- Responses are slow and unhelpful.- They seem unconcerned about the long wait for replacement parts.- No solutions offered for the interim period while waiting for parts.- they suggested for me to get a replacement unit from their website for a price higher than what's on Amazon here.Financial Impact:Now I'm left with an expensive unit I need to dispose and the need to buy bottled water or a new dispenser. I will switch to Brie self cleaning one for the next one.Advice to Potential Buyers:- Think twice before purchasing this model.- If you do buy it, DEFINITELY get extended warranty coverage.- Be prepared for potential issues after the first year.In conclusion, the short lifespan and lack of support make this water dispenser a poor investment. Save yourself the headache and look for a more reliable option or be ready to pay for extended coverage.

I have had this water cooler for well over 2 years now, no parts have failed. The Unit works as expected.Here is the problem though. Even though this water cooler has the ability to clean itself using ozone, the user is still required to manually clean the internal reservoir every 3 months to get rid of mold that can start growing. That is fine, I don't mind cleaning it but the design of this unit is not engineered in a way so that lay people can easily clean the inside reservoir. It is a a hassle to take it apart and reassemble. There are very thin electrical wires hanging in the way, the tubes a hard to pull off and reconnect, the manual does a poor job of stating where all these parts belong, it is very easy to lose parts if you drop them in the inside. The unit uses non-captive screws that can easily be lost.If this unit was made to be used and cleaned/maintained by lay people, it should have been designed to be easy to dissassemble, taken out and thrown in the dishwasher, and easy to re-assemble.I gave this product a 3 of 5 because it does actually work as advertised, I have owned this for over 2 years and it still heats/cools water without a problem. I would have given it a full 5 starts if I could clean this thing easily.I have also looked into getting this professionally cleaned, Avalon does not have a contract with anyone to clean these units. Also water delivery companies generally only service water coolers bought directly from them, so that does not help.

Hadn't heard of this brand before so made a leap as we needed a new water cooler ASAP. We've been using it a couple weeks now and it's been great! I really enjoy the 3 temps as our last one only had hot and cold. My kids used to add a little hot water to the cold so it wasn't too cold. Having this option is much better. It's taking a while to get used to where the spouts are. My husband's one complaint was that the light doesn't shine as well into the cup as our last one so he can't see where the water line is in our insulated cups. When replacing the bottle I find it tricky to open without the water tray getting pulled out and spilling. But it's part of just getting used to something else. I like the metal straw better and having a place to rest it on the door rather than on the floor is really nice. I also find it quieter than our last one.

We have changed our rating from 1 to 5 stars. The first machine was defective. The company promptly replaced it. The new machine is working well and we have no complaints. ***We received our new machine on February 2, 2024. We specifically paid more in order to have a safe, self cleaning machine since we drink lots of water. Lately we noticed white particles in our water and an oil film when we have tea. We changed the bottle and then reflled with city tap water to see if it was from the bottled water or from the machine. We have been through two bottles already and attached is a photo of the last container of water we just took from the machine. What have we been drinking?? What are these particles and why are we getting this in our water from a new machine?? Is anyone else experiencing this same problem? How do we fix this?

I've had two other units in the past. All comparable to a degree but this one stands out. I like the clean appearance that the unit has without the water bottle sitting on top. It's much easy easier changing the bottle at the bottom. This unit is also nice having two water temps besides the hot. I can have cold water or room temperature water. Good for the kids and adults what well when you don't need the real cold drink. The hot water is nice and hot too. The unit itself runs very quiet and it tells you when your bottle is empty leaving very little in the bottle.

So far so good. I like the self cleaning option. Better than other one I owned by whirlpool. Some reviews mention water not cold. The water is cold enough. Have I owned machines with much colder water ? Yes but this is cold enough and I also like the cool option where it’s colder than room temperature. Overall I recommend. Also the weird taste at the beginning only lasts a few days , basically 1 bottle. After that the water tastes great. So why didn’t I give it 5 stars? Well it takes more than that to impress me. I’ve only owned 1 5 star water cooler and that was a whirlpool that lasted 10 years! This Avalon so far I give it a 4.5 stars

Machine arrived well packaged and damage free. I found it was very easy to unpack and set up. Bought my water and inserted as per the instructions which was fast and easy. We have been enjoying the water from this machine ever since. I already tested the UV/Ozone cleaning function and it is great. Hot water is actually hot enough to make a cup of tea. This machine may be slightly more expensive than others but I like the self cleaning function. Once every six months the machine requires a more intense cleaning to help preserve its functionality but the process appears very simple. Another big plus was how very quiet it is. Very impressed with the quality as well. Highly recommend this machine at this price point.

Well, I could start off with "it was the best of times"....but let me provide my experience with you all. First cooler delivered on time, however it was left on my front porch on it's side instead of upright. Everyone knows there are potential issues when any item with a compressor/coolant is in a horizontal position and can leak...or do they? Anyways, the first unit (First Tale), when set up, started off with cool-ish cold water and immediately degraded to room temp. Called the company (BHRS group) and the gentleman answering the phone provided me with the email of the VP of Purchasing. I sent an email, and got an immediate response telling me "unit must have been left on side, no worries, we'll send you a new cooler with a return label, to send the old unit back". Seemed pretty darn reasonable. Got the second unit within 3 days. (Second Tale) Second unit arrived in what I can describe as a box that came through the last super-storm. Opened the box, and lo and behold, unit was damaged beyond repair - dents, door off hinges, broken pieces. Needless to say, I took some pix, sent those back to the VP of Purchasing, and his immediate response was "I am sending you a new unit RIGHT AWAY. Very sorry!" (Third Tale) Got new unit in 2 days. Opened it up, plugged it in, and presto, very cold and very hot water! Impressed. Works fine, as expected. Nice looking unit. So, I will end my review with "It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done"....I persevered with simple, adequate descriptions of my problems, the VP of Purchasing was VERY PROFESSIONAL in his handling of the issues, and I am completely satisfied. And now to switch from Charles Dickens to Clement Moore.."And to all a good night".
