This is an excellent box in all ways but one: the latch doesn’t inspire confidence for the long haul.I bought two, one after the other. Both have a very light latch and if they wear much it will become a problem and no obvious way to fix it.They are a fraction of the cost of the CP boxes I normally use, but like the CP’s they’re well crafted of solid materials. Nice design, well executed. Until the latch fails these will be fantastic boxes.Also like the CPs, I had to slightly enlarge the lanyard hole to install a Ti ring. There’s not much extra material there so one must take care if one decides to do this.I’m using them for small saltwater files, but these would be an excellent choice for trout/bass flies, lots of elbow room in a compact form.

I am an avid fly fisherman. I have tried dozens of fly boxes over the years. This is one of my favorite designs because you can store a ton of flies in this box. It’s closes and latches securely and it has a nice dense foam for holding flies. It’s still small enough to store in any coat pocket. I really prefer this nice dense foam over the new silicon fly boxes. I live in a cold climate and the foam works much easier than silicone. Under hard rigorous use, the foam will eventually break down but you will get several years of use before that. This fly box is super simple yet has all the features I like. And at this price it’s a steal! It does have a great silicone seal to keep it water tight. I have no complaints!

This is a really neat little all in one fly box! It’s got lots of spots for flys, extra hooks, and misc tackle. It’s a great size, easy to carry, slip into a pocket or bag. It has a nice, secure latch and is really sturdy and durable. Very happy with this item!!
