I treated 3 sets of shirts & pants for whenever I'm mowing or relaxing outside. I'm caviar to any biting bug(ticks, mosquitoes, chiggers, flues, ladybugs) you laugh but...golly! So, this stuff allows me to protect myself without having to bathe in spray on DEET products. What a game changer!

Typically buy the Sawyer Spray bottles but decided to try this generic. It arrived the next day from Amazon so happy with the shipping. It seems identical to the Sawyer product. However, the hand pump spray is so much better and is easy to use. It's also about half the price per ounce.

I like everything about this product! I especially like the way it has helped in eradicating scabies mites!!! I sprayed everything including washable clothing ,linens, furniture, bedding and more. Never noticed any discoloration on fabrics. I did spray from a reasonable distance of 2-3 ft so I didn’t inhale any of product. Hope this helps! The only downside is that availability has been difficult. I have a subscription which is really handy but the resent storms apparently have temporarily affected delivery and availability of product.

I have been using this to treat my turkey hunting clothes for the last 4 years. Have never had a tick on me when I've worn clothes treated with this stuff. Seems to repel other pests as well.Only gripe is the cost, I've always got my eye out for something less expensive but so far I haven't found anything better

This product is not effective. I followed instructions and used it according to the bottle. It didn’t do anything to the tick I sprayed it on. It just kept walking finally had to burn the tick up. I tried it on some ants and they just laughed at me. I will stick to sawyer it actually works.

I live in a subdivision built in a swamp.Applied to clothes, gear, and around the house to great effect. Water ants used to be all over my house, not causing any harm, but it bothered my mom when she moved in. I sprayed this around the foundation in spring, and haven't seen an ant in the house all year.I spend a lot of time traveling on my motorcycle, so I applied it to my riding gear and clothes in the event I had to sleep in the field, and no bugs bothered me (aside from the dead ones all over the front of my bike and helmet).

What I really like is I can use it indoors and in my 24 year old car! I've battled Lyme disease twice and I live in a high rise building where the maintenance is almost non existent.. so I take care of my apartment the best I can. Recently I was waking up with bites on me and even though I'm exceptionally clean I needed to do something, this has PERMETHRIN in it, I sprayed all along my baseboards, the underneath of my mattress, under the cabinets, I even sprayed around my door and my neighbor's. So far so good! I vacuum every couple days, no clutter and no more break outs..

Permethrin sprayed on clothing and equipment is a good alternative to DEET or Picaridin applied to your skin. This gallon size is the most economical form I've found. I'm a backpacker, mostly in New England. We have black flies in the spring and early summer, mosquitoes in summer, and deer ticks as well as wood ticks in summer and fall. I use this on equipment like my tents, sleeping bag, air mattress, and backpack. And I use it on pants, shorts, shirts, socks, and hats. I also use it on my running shoes and clothing because I'm generally running trails that pass through wetlands and the bugs can be pretty bad.Does it work? Yes, it seems to stop most biting insects. And it means I only need to apply Picaridin to exposed skin like my face and neck and forearms. It's easy to apply with the sprayer but a bit tedious if I'm doing all my stuff for a backpacking trip. And you need to spray outside away from pets and wait a couple of hours for it to dry. The good news is that it's supposed to last for 6 weeks and/or 6 trips through a washer. So, three applications gets me through spring, summer, and fall. There isn't any odor after it dries and it doesn't seem to leave any film I can feel on my clothing. The way I figure it, I'm willing to put up with the hassle of treating my stuff if it avoids a bout of west Nile virus, Lyme disease, equine encephalitis, spotted fever, or just the insane irritation of being covered in black fly or mosquito bites. There is no fun in a buddy system tick-check at the end of a day of backpacking. But, I still carry tweezers and a tick removal tool just in case.
