It's not a tier-1 product but it protects your ears. These are best for smaller to medium head sizes. I notice a lot of improvement over my old hearing protection but find the dampening effect largely caused by the pressure of the earmuffs which are solid with dampening components inside.I don't regret the order one bit, I do however feel that the price is a bit steep. They are flashy looking and look tier-1, but due to the compact range bag size they are pretty tight on the head. I'm sure they wear in just fine over time though, they already seem to be loosening up.

These things are great! I’ve bought a lot of stuff from this company in the past, and so when I saw these available, it was a no brainer to jump at the chance. Took them to the range, and as expected, they work extremely well. You really can’t go wrong with anything from AXIL. Do yourself a favor, and go pick these up.

Passive ear protection that weights 8 oz and can sit in a large pocket. The fit is adjustable as the cups can slide up and down by approximately 1 inch each. Pressure against the ears is noticeable and firm but not annoying. I've worn propeller plane aviator headsets (let it be clear: this is a completely different item, I'm making *only* a noise reduction comparison) that were less effective than these passive earmuffs. These will not plunge you into complete silence (adjust expectations!), but are good at taking the edge off very loud sudden noises (e.g. firearm range) or reducing persistent loud buzzes (e.g. worksite electricity generators and other heavy equipment). They seem sturdy enough to last a good while under a light, but not excessive, amount of abuse. There are two pairs in the box anyway.

This is the description for these headphones according to the Amazon listing:"Advanced Technology: Our hearing protection for shooting range, construction sites, and more features full dynamic range, high fidelity speakers for clear, balanced sound with 2 directional microphones. The noise reduction earmuffs automatically compress damaging loud sounds to give you the hearing protection you need without interrupting your normal activities."I am also including pics of this description, and the description on the box I received. There are NO speakers and NO microphones in the ear muffs. There is NO battery compartment, and NO buttons. These are NOT "noise cancelling" earmuffs. These are just basic ear protection earmuffs. As basic, non-electrical, hearing protection earmuffs, I'd give them a 4 out of 5 star rating. They are good quality, low profile earmuffs, but they are not worth $40 each ($80 for 2 pair, at time of this review). You can buy standard ear muffs for under $20 a pair.I am giving them 2 stars, because what I received is NOT what was described. The problem is that they are described as being "electronic" earmuffs, that detect loud sounds and attenuate noise using microphones and speakers. The description is intentionally misleading. I would not have bought these, if I knew they were just basic earmuffs.Very disappointing.

For the cost, getting two slim build ear protection of this quality is actually a good value. I was a bit confused with the listing as their claims make it almost seem like they're electronic in a way. Somehow these ear puffs allow minor sounds to come through buy does a good job suppressing loud noises such as gunfire. They're quite comfortable to wear and I would compare them to the Walkers Razors. There's not much else to them with standard ear muff adjustments, they pull and pivot to how you favor. They're a step up above just basic bulky ear pro earmuffs.

I just got these muffs in today. They came in as a pair which is good, this way my wife can't say I have better ear protection than she does. They are light and compact when folded in, you could carry them in a large jacket pocket, cross bag, daypack or range bag and not take up too much room. I opened up the "instruction" pamphlet to review the functions, I might as well of asked my dog, he probably would have been more helpful. That being said, I fiddled around with them and found out everything I needed to, to make all the adjustments and functions work. If you have to buy ear protection anyway, you might as well get some with extras. I may even use these at work.

All around a great pair of earmuffs. They look great and are sleek and the matte finish is nice. When I adjust them properly and give it a good press the foam cushion seals around my ear well, even with glasses on. It is a little weird to adjust because it lengthens between the black plastic tubes on each size and the metal wire arms. I tried to adjust several times by grabbing the band or wire area and it didn’t budge. You have to only be holding the black matte ear portion. Sliding to extend is a bit jerky and not smooth like you would find on a nice pair of studio headphones. For the cost I would thing the sliding adjustment would be a bit more premium feeling. These were very comfortable and I like how the foam ear cups can be replaced if they are damaged.
