Looking at some of the negative reviews, I was a little wary getting this, but it is fabulous. It has a good weight and balance to it and is well made. The blade is sturdy, good quality, and will have no problem holding an edge if you wanted to sharpen it. The grip is a very nice wood, warm to hold, and the hilt and pommel are solid brass. I am surprised at how good a quality it is given how inexpensive it was.It would be excellent as an atheme on a small altar, with the wooden grip easily able to be stained black, and inscribed with any symbols if you wanted them. I will probably stick with the atheme I already have, as it is bigger and more suited to the size of my altar, but now that I do more herb and folk magic, this is perfect as a boline, which I was in need of. I am very happy with it.It would also make a fabulous boot knife if that is more your thing.

I have been looking for an athame that was small enough to carry with me during travel and this was actually perfect. Although I look at the sizes of items here some are sometimes smaller or bigger than expected but this item was PERFECT.The only thing ill say is that its EXTREMELY sharp so be careful when handling it. This is good because I plan on using this to cut herbs and was able to do this without issue. The only "issue" that I do have is the case it came in doesnt button due to the button pieces being placed backwards lol. Other than that the athame is worth the money, small and can be traveled with anywhere.

This is a great product for the Price. I gave it four stars because the case is not very good quality. The athame falls out easily and the snap broke the first time I used it, rendering the case obsolete. The handle is of good quality and overall the athame is very sturdy. The blade had a chipped spot on it, but again, for the price, you can't beat it. I was looking for something to carry with me to ritual and this is the perfect size to fit in my ritual bag. It's not cumbersome and does not weigh down my robe. I would recommend this to someone who is looking for an inexpensive, small athame but does not need a working case.

No stars. This "knife" is not even a knife in the practical sense. Came in damaged packaging. The knife does not fit in the sheath provided with it. The sheath provided looks like somebody had it laying on a dusty shelf in their garage for a few years and then just threw it in a bag to ship to me. The clip on the sheath is scratched and rusted. The knife has NO sharp edge whatsoever, you can squeeze your fingers along both edges without so much as a scratch. Workmanship is awful. The blade is not properly fixed into the handle and the handle is not a uniform shape. Theres a hole in the metal on both ends of the handle. Between where the metal and wood of the handle come together, it is not all the way together on one side and has glue gunk all over on the other side. And on top of all this, the price has increased since i bought it, and it would cost me almost as much to return the item as what i paid for it!!!! And it was NOT worth the even $7 i paid for it! Very very disappointed in this purchase. I was excited to get a small double edged athame, and what i got looks like a knife thats never been sharpened ever and was some cheap piece of crap thats been sitting around for 30 years, then cleaned before it was shipped out. The only thing i would find this adequate for is maybe a small dagger for a childs pirate costume, though the tip is quite pointy and sharp, so not even suitable for that.

I got this as a Christmas present for my girlfriend, and ordered one for myself as well. I just got them today, I was very pleased with the construction. For the price I was expecting at least some part of it to be cheap and chincy, it is well constructed and very solid. My only issue it that one if the blades is set crooked, but for the price... *meh* not going to complain. Some have complained about the sheath, its not very sturdy but the knife definetly makes up for the sheath.

I gave this knife a 5 because for magical workings it's an awesome Athame. It just does not get any better than this little knife. Whether for your home altar or for your mini-altar, this knife is perfect. For the price and the customizable wooden handle, you simply can not go wrong. The case, however, was wrinkled, cheap, and the Athame did not properly fit into it. Now, this is fine with me since I just basically threw the case away because I don't need it, but for someone who wants their Athame with a case or someone using it as a hunting knife (which I couldn't imagine anyway), like the box said it was, this is not the Athame for you and you'll have to spend a few more dollars elsewhere on another one.
