Bonsai Care
Bonsai care is a more delicate process than an average house plant. Most important to remember is watering, fertilizing, & location!
Concave Cutter
An imperative tool for any bonsai enthusiast. Cuts branches that are flush to the trunk. Minimizes damage to the tree, leading to rapid recovery time. Due to the closeness of the snip, it is almost untraceable afterwards, making the hole blend with the rest.
Jin Pliers
Made with short, powerful jaws. Aids in placing or dismantling the wire from the bonsai plant. Another thing jin pliers can be used for is stripping the bark of the tree. This is done for visual appeal to create a deadwood/aging effect on the trunk.
Trimming Shear
Fits into tight spaces, allowing for precise defoliation. These are meant to help trim and thin out the plant, without damaging any tender shoots or blossoms, while still reaching the desired part of the plant you want to take off.
Trunk Splitter
Splits trunk in order to strengthen it. Typically, the trunk is separated into two pieces and then held together with wire. This tool makes it easier to manipulate the shape of the tree and branches.
Root Pick
Break through the soil while leaving the roots unharmed. The sharp point is great for carving down into the soil. Its smooth and round sides are perfect for the safety of the roots while removing the soil around them.
Pruning Shear
Great for the removal of the branches as well as the leaves on the plant. Mainly used for pruning the top of the plant and the roots. The wide grip of the handle allows for the shears to do this with larger parts of the plant.
Root Rake
Help remove and replant bonsai. Loosen roots with the rake to make it easier to dislodge. Use the flat edge to pack soil between the roots for stability.
Heavy Duty Trimming Shear
Great for trimming the tree so branches and leaves grow more evenly. The removal of outgrown parts maintains its size and shape, while also encouraging new growth.
Knob Cutter
Hollows out incisions made by a branch cutter. Also known as "knuckle cutter," it is known for its spherical-shaped blades. Its design allows for its user to work it like a chisel in order to gouge out excess plant matter.
Leaf Cutter
This is used for the removal of unwanted leaves or buds. Induced growth where dead leaves are snipped. Small and easy to maneuver for quick defoliation.
Root Cutter
Cuts through thick root with minimal damage. The steel blades are meant for severing the denser wood fibers commonly found in roots. Its flat cut can also be used to split the trunk, if so desired.

Awesome little saw but be careful with it. Remember Japanese saws cut on the Back Stroke. So don't push into your cuts, glide into it and your "power stroke" is on the pull motion. I tend to strongarm saws to get the job done quickly (I'm a landscaper). Well...I broke the blade long before it would've ever gone dull. Luckily you can order replacement blades. Lost one star because of how thin the blade is and how easily it snapped.

Trimming shears arrived visibly rusting... I have yet to test the saw or the shears as I'm considering returning and purchasing another set in order to save myself the work in oiling and removing the rust.

I was not expecting anything this big, now I do not know what I will use it for. I was thinking it was much smaller.

I put this saw to immediate use on both living and dead wood in pruning around the yard. I would say that it works best on dead wood, but my experience has been very good with everything I have used it on. Folding makes it easy to carry around and it is the right size for a homeowner to put in a large pocket. Cleaning after every heavy use to remove sap and grime helps with performance in the next use.

I bought this so I could use it to saw/cut my bonsais and then graft them. The saw was bigger than I expected and came with a few free gifts. Gift#1 was a handheld clay Buddha :) The second was a nice pair of bonsai trimmers which I appreciated. That was very nice of them and I wish I could give them a better review. But unfortunately I am reviewing the product and not the kind gesture the company made. The saw was not very effective and was too big to be used to cut because its hard to gain leverage when cutting on bonsais so small. The ridges of the blade are strange and make it very difficult to start a cut. If you end up buying this product make sure you are going to use it only for larger and older bonsais or trees/shrubs. One good thing about it is that it folds up and has a locking mechanism. But too bad the saw isn't half the size.I will just use it for work in my garden. Well the company's service was 5 stars and everything arrived in a timely manner. I do not recommend this product, but I do like the company.
