This pair is an okay set to get before buying anything nicer for twice the price. Judging without considering value would have been one less star from me. The one actual issue is that the back of the flat end on both tools is coated and not machined. When using it for prying, the blue will mark the base surface. The 8” tool is the full 8” and the 12” tool is 1/4” short at 11.75”.

You can kinda see it in the pictures, but in person the oddly shaped cats-paw is super obvious. They still work, but when i drive it in, it doesn't go strait, and it just looks like my 12 year old made them in shop class or something like that. Aside form this crookedness, they are strong and otherwise well made...

This pair of catspaw nail pullers by Bates are very well made and of high quality. The attention to detail and fit & finish is top of the line. It's a shame to hit them with a hammer, but hit them I will! Between the 2 sizes of them, they will handle just about any job where you need to extract nails, even embeded nails. Cat paw pullers are something that you don't realize you need until you need them. They are great for getting under right nails and for prying leverage. This set comes with two different sizes, but pretty small and thin. But good for tight spots. Both sizes have the same claw tip design, one flat end and one 90 degree end. Both come to the same tip degree. They are coated to help prevent rusting over time.
