I use two of these adapters (and their respective batteries) connected to a switch that allows me to select only one of the adapters to be providing power at any time. When I'm running some of my equipment, I can't have the equipment stop until I'm through with it's application. With this dual setup, I'm able to switch to the other adapter/battery unit once I see that one battery is running low or the equipment is slowing down. This allows the equipment to continue running until I want it to stop.

For $13 this Dewalt 20V battery adapter is expensive. It claimed to be a new edition with various protections (which I have not verified.) The wires are 14AWG and it has a switch with LED at the front. It comes with mounting screws and one wire terminal connector.

Works great, alittle annoying that you have to turn it on every time

So continent having the lvl built in. Have the older style with the double click power button on top and all the charging ports also. Both are great for different applications.

I successfully used this to upgrade my son's 6v ride on to use DeWALT batteries. I had to add a 12v step down, which I found is a good balance between added speed and not frying the motor/gearbox by directly feeding it 20 volts from the battery.Inline splicing connectors are supplied (aka Wago connectors), which worked well enough to secure everything that I didn't feel a need to do the traditional solder and shrink tubing. The wires directly coming off of the adapter are indeed thick 12 gauge wiring, which is plenty for most adaptations you would use this for. The splicing connectors bit on tightly to the 12 gauge wires as well as the 16 gauge wires coming off of the motor. The battery slide portion is a very accurate mold as well for DeWALT batteries. It slides in and out with just the right amount of friction and clicks in securely. One thing to note when you first use it is that you must turn it on with the white button in between the two wires each time you disconnect and reconnect a battery. A green light should illuminate indicating that you have power now.Over all, this is well made and a great bargain at $10 after coupon. I have not had a chance to test the low voltage cutoff yet, as these 6v ride on seem to last weeks with a 5.0 Ah battery. However given the over engineering of the product this far, I have no reason to believe it won't cut off correctly at a safe voltage range (14.5 to 15.0 volts).

This has heavier duty wires than another one I used before. I have a 20 volt led sorta desk light. I was sent the wrong one as it was suppose to be 110volt AC. But I got thinking about it and decided to keep it and build a portable lamp to use in my wood shop. That was the plan when I got the light to use it on the bandsaw but I have other tools it is nice to use it with too and now I can take it anywhere. It worked perfect and was even able to use the mounting holes it came with.

I was afraid this would be a dumb adapter but when I took it apart I could see they put some active components inside. I tested the low voltage cutoff and that worked as expected. The wires seem adequate and there's also a power button which may be nice for some use cases. The adapter doesn't change the delivered voltage of the battery pack. Whatever voltage the battery puts out is exactly what the pack puts out. I'm happy with the build quality given the price. The adapter is snapped together but also screwed together so it won't easily fall apart. It came with wire connector and screws for mounting but no fuse. I would definitely add an inline fuse during install. See the photos for the tear down. From the notes I see you must charge the battery using your regular DeWalt or Milwaukee charger. I also see they recommend removing the battery from the adapter when not in use. Presumably that helps prevent discharge. There's a huge variety of possible uses for this beyond replacing Big wheel batteries so use your imagination. I've even seen 120V power inverters powered by these. Be sure to check for a compatible voltage.
