Thin rubber. I was better off keeping the old ones on they were made of better rubber then these were.

Good replacement. These fit on my 09 Escape as expected. The metal clamps were interesting, but they worked. I had to cut them with snips after tightening. Overall, I would recommend these if you're looking for replacement boots.

If you have an early Ford Escape, or Mazda Tribute (pretty sure until 09), this part is almost $100 from dealer. That's insane. The Moog part that crosses over to this part number is wrong, it doesn't have a transfer tube port on the boot. The 103-2897 is the boot you want. It looks exactly like Ford OEM part. Even includes 2 metals straps, like OEM.

Very hard to find part after daughter's Escape boot was torn. Have to order but with Prime got 1 day shipping. Works perfectly. This is the right part.

Fit perfectly on my 2005 Escape. Fairly easy to install: Remove Tie Rod end (hardest part because the lock nut was rusted in place - so I had to heat the lock nut with a propane torch to break it free. Remove tie rod end by counting the number of full rotations to get it off (27.5 rotations in my case). Remove lock nut too. Take old boot off. Put new boot on (after putting lots of silicone spray on covered parts and coating with some grease) Secure it with supplied tie strings (or a hose clamp works). Replace tie rod end with the same number of turns as it took to get it off. Tighten lock nut.
